Honestly I really enjoyed the main campaign and I got a good 50 hours or so out of the game until I got bored. I still think it’s a good game but it’s very much a casual game now. That’s not really a criticism just an observation. I think D2 will be the sort of game I play for a month when the DLC’s come out and then put back on the shelf after that. And I’m fine with that. There are plenty of other great games out there to play.
The issue for Bungie is that I’m not sure if they intended it to be that way. It seems to me they want people to keep playing but they’ve failed to give players any real incentive to do so. Unlike many other people on this forum though I don’t want more pointless grind. I want more story content. New adventures. Bigger and better lost sectors. More NPC’s etc. etc. That’s where this game really fell short in my opinion. Lost sectors where underdeveloped, the worlds still felt empty and there wasn’t any motivation to explore them. And most importantly there wasn’t enough story content to motivate me to keep playing beyond the (short) main campaign.
