You, like a lot of negative people on this forum, despite knowing what Bungie is capable of, despite 3 years of history, expected way too much. It was clear from May that they were doing a new build of their game. What PVP would be like. I don’t feel sorry for anyone that feels like they should have gotten more. It was obvious they were doing a reset and that they would put out as much as they can but seriously. People expected at launch to have tons of strikes? Multiple raids? One shot PvP fests? Endless grindy quests for a thing that sits in your vault? Like, you’ve got to be kidding me. I can’t believe how naive this forum community was. Whether you believe it or not, this is the game you were asking for.

  • No, the community expected a game with more improvements and content over the original Destiny. I could buy the first Destiny, plus all DLC, for $30USD, and it has way more bang for my buck than this game probably will for another 3 years. I expected improvements after DLC, after Destiny 1, not another half-assed Vanilla experience where the story is in place of PVP.

  • Destiny 1 doesn't really have any value at this point, and a 30 dollar price point makes sense for a very, very old game. So far the game I've gotten has matched my expectations. The only things that I don't like are not being able to select strikes and crucible game modes, but, then I play Overwatch, and the match types are always changing, so that's not that big a deal to me. Heroic strikes would be nice. I can't think of anything else I would really care for. Expecting everything in D1 and more was completely unrealistic and nothing about what Bungie put out there suggested to me that it was going to be that. Someone did a comparison of things to do in the game, and other than strikes and raids, we have almost as much story and world content as all of D1. Saying this game is half assed is half stupid. You're, again, not being realistic. People busted their ass to make this game so that we could even complain about it. That kind of comment doesn't add anything to any conversation. There's a line between being a sour customer and understanding things from a business perspective.

People expected a reason to keep playing the game after 2 weeks. That expectation was not fulfilled. Nobody expected 20 strikes and 5 raids. They expected interesting loot. Shit to do.

  • It appears as if you didn’t read the post. He never said anything about multiple raids or tons of strikes. He talked about the lack of reward for doing anything. This is quite true and why there’s so little motivation to play.

  • And that hasn’t been said a thousand times since week 2.

  • And I recall all the Bungie defenders saying multiple times, "Don't worry it's just a beta/apha/E3/etc. Everything will be fine when the game comes out." Interesting now to see the Bungie defenders have done a complete 180 on their stance.
