Yea there is. I've used the perk in PVP, had it take my nade and then get killed by someone instantly to then spawn with no nade obviously indicating it couldn't have been lag

This is kinda true. The think about FtV is even if you dont eat the nade, trying to do so still consumes it. So if you did get killed before it activates JUST BARELY it doesnt matter. Nades still gone.
