I never thought me, of all people, would say this.
But I am starting to lose interest in Destiny. And I'm starting to lose it [i]fast.[/i]
Yesterday, I kept browsing the PlayStation store looking for new games. And then when I closed it out and saw Destiny 2, I just sighed.
I just don't understand. How does this even happen? I was expecting Destiny 2 to be everything Destiny 1 was(Post Rise Of Iron) and better. It's not even that.
This just feels like a repeat of Vanilla D1. And as much as I hate putting on those stupid rose-tinted glasses, Destiny 1 actually had a raid that was enjoyable. It had fascinating gear with perks that were HELPFUL(Bonus damage to oracles, and extra heavy ammo boots, anyone?) And all the weapons were top-tier, and if they weren't top tier, they were still good. Fatebringer, Found Verdict, Mythoclast, Praedyth's Revenege, Hezen Vengeance, Vision of Confluence. It also gave us a sense of prestige and sense of wonder. Elemental Primaries! A legendary type of weapon that could only be found as a reward from the raid. Obtaining these gave you a sense of [b]power[/b], as on Nightfalls with a burn, your -blam!-ing primary was doing an unreasonable amount of damage.
Everything in D2 seems.. Weak. Unimpressive. (Except Legend of Acrius. I love that thing.) I'm a titan main(duh) and in D1, [i]An Insurmountable Skullfort[/i] and [i]Dunemarchers[/i] were not that appealing to me. But in D2? They're arguably one of the best exotics titans have right now. And they're still the same version from D1!
I'm just gonna cut this post short and say this: [b][i]The Endgame is not fun, and the rewards aren't worth the headache.[/i][/b]
I'm not gonna do the stupid Exodus Crash strike on prestige because it's [b][i][u]BUGGED, IT IS NOT FUN TO DO BECAUSE OF HOW POORLY DESIGNED IT IS, AND BECAUSE OF TIMERS AND THE STUPID TIME ONION RINGS AND ODKWKDJEOWKRNWOWJRJWD[/u][/i][/b]
And what reward am I gonna get? A duplicate/and or undesired exotic and some tokens?
I am 305. These rewards don't mean anything to me anymore. The Prestige raid won't mean anything to me because it doesn't increase light level. The weapons are boring and dull.
And the bad part about this is, the community [b][i][u]HAS BEEN SAYING THIS SINCE LAUNCH. WE HAVE BEEN SAYING THE SAME -blam!-ING COMPLAINTS SINCE LAUNCH.[/u][/i][/b]
YOU KNOW WHAT WE GET?
WE GET STUPID WEEKLY UPDATES TELLING US SHIT WE ALREADY KNOW AND AT THE VERY -blam!-ING END OF IT, WE GET "We hear you" OR SOME OTHER VAGUE SHIT
I. JUST. WANT. ANSWERS.
Address each of our problems and give us solutions that you are working on. Getting a "we hear you" every week is demoralizing, Bungie. It really is.
I mean, -blam!-. This game has become such a bore that I'm not even motivated to write fan-fictions or some other cringy crap. That at least should tell you how I am feeling.
Please. Stop the reskins. Stop half-assing. Talk to us. Give us a roadmap. [b][i]Do something.[/i][/b]
I'll still stick around. But I will not be playing as much until something changes. It has to, or you're asking for your game to fail.
Come on, Bungie. I know you can do it. All those talented folks up at Seattle can give us all what we've been asking for.

9 RepliesI hate to say it man, but i told you so. And everyone else out there who was saying the beta was an old build and Destiny 2 would be great. Too much of the game was sacrificed for the sake of pvp balance, and beyond that, everything in pve became pointless due to the faux light system and poor rewards system set up to placate the participation trophy generation.

We got a standard FPS with some looting, and near zero word building. I just do not understand how people can defend an unfinished product. Especially after what happened in Destiny 1. We expect the whole game. We do not want to have to wait for things that should have been in the game when we got it, only to have them called "DLC". [u]Think of a game like a Burger.[/u] -The Burger (base game) should have; the meat patty, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, ketchup & mustard. -The fries and soda (DLC/Expansion) should add to the experience. We should not have to pay more money to make the game whole when it should have been at launch. F2P games like Warframe can do that because they are F2P. You are getting the game for free so it being a work-in-progress is forgivable. Destiny is made by AAA developers, supported by AAA publishers, and is sold as a $60 game. They already have the money and support they need to make a complete product. The fact that it is NOT a complete game at launch, and is actually an incomplete foundation that relies on content updates as well as paid DLCs to add things that should have been in the game in the first place, is unacceptable. A $60 game should not act like a F2P game. It should be a complete game at release.

Levelling is too easy 10 light levels per week Id expect to be achieveable not any where near close to endgame capable levels people should only just be able to be hitting mid 200s with the current cap. Static rolls give us nothing to grind and regrind for once you have it thats it. And why? Balance to crucible? didnt work too well did it esp with soloists and full fireteams in the same matchmaking pool. Luckydip for bad rewards via the token system which would somewhat be tolerable if not for the boring static rolls. Bad exotics caused by whingers of d1 no doubt either keep them as is but remove the one exotic limitation, or actually make them exotic better yet turn exotics into set items that become stronger for each piece you have equipped. Rampant handout of legendary engrams again if random rolled would be tolerable but with static gets old quick. Unless they plan to add new weapons and armor every month this game will fizzle and die in the ass faster than a fly-blown cow

2 RepliesAnswer: the direction the game is heading is becoming more engaging during play, less engaging during viewing of streams / videos. After looking at the behavior of their players, they found that the most negative behaviors (pubstomping, elitism, trolling, glitching, cheating, etc) are not only most common among "hardcore" (read: popular / watched) players, but they spread from those players to the rest of the community. Bungie has made the choice to attempt to drive these players away to other games that still allow for silly antics, Destiny 2 is the result, and I think it's going well.

They were so scared of an imbalanced pvp or someone finding a good hiding spot on a nightfall that they gutted the game down to the bland turd that we have today.

Sad to say, I'm in the same boat. Bought Mad Max two days ago and haven't looked back. Sure I'll be back to destiny for the DLC, but I think I'm done for now. Over 3k hours on D1, and I can't make it more than a month on D2, hmm.

I played the raid like halfway on my bro's account. It fricken sucked. Not fun, not rewarding. I miss VoG, and Crota, heck even Wrath and King's Fall. You could play it once, and then want to do it OVER AND OVER again. I played VoG 11 freaking times one week, just because it was fun! Even with a super good team, Leviathan wasn't fun. It was hard, tedious, buggy, and just a plain sucky experience. I miss VoG :'(

I enjoyed the heck out of D1, and thought D2 was going to be a mindblowing experience, but all we got is a watered down game with a comprehensive story. Not a great story, just one that is easy to understand. I defended Bungie all this time, but last week I realized that the only reason I played the game was because I love what the game could be and should be, therefore forcing myself to play day after day. This game is no longer directed to us, the hardcore destiny fans. I guess we're the minority, and as always, we don't matter. We got to acknowledge Bungie's achievements though, they came up with the best way to kill their fanbase.

Yea, the crucible isn't fun (dominated by scout rifles), the raid isn't fun (have to shut the hell up to do well instead of chatting with new people) and there is absolutely no reason to play vangaurd strikes after power level 265. I basically get the milestones done on tuesday, the raid on thursday and then log on for clan engrams and xur. I would play crucible inbetween, but the progression is so slow, its not worth the time investment. Its sad that they improved destiny for below the 265 soft cap, but made it worse beyond the soft cap.

I was defending the game for a while but I think banner finally got to me. Instead of iron banner we got a temporary control playlist. It just didn’t have that special event feel... Endgame without level advantage doesn’t feel like endgame. I’m hoping leviathan prestige can keep my attention until the 1st expansion but I’m definitely starting to play less.

I agree 100%. I have hundreds of hours in D1 and cannot get into D2 for so many reasons that you mention above.
