In D1 I was always an adamant fan of Dead Orbit more so because of the shaders than anything else however ive always leaned towards FWC's overall perception. With that in mind I look at Dead Orbit as realists that don't see an alternative. To them fighting the darkness means an inevitable loss of humanity so colonizing other planets and fleeing humanity across the stars is the only way to survive in their eyes. Sometimes flight is the right choice and knowing when to run is always a better option than standing and dying when you believe you cant win, only time will tell which if any of the factions are correct in their thinking. As an FWC member I love the idea of looking into the future to prepare for inevitable war but as any good sci fi movie or book will tell you, messing with the future, even in a miniscule way can have grave consequences.

I personally side with New Monarchy and don't really agree with Dead Orbit, but you've kind of got them wrong. They're not about running away, they just don't want all of humanity in one place because then it's possible we could all get killed in a single catastrophic event. If humans are spread out all over the place, it's harder to wipe us all out.

I seem to remember Zavala mentioning the DO fleet... the one that evacuated the city. DO is like Star Trek 2.0. Seek out far and distant lands so we have more stuff to shoot and blow up when someone comes and shoots and blows our stuff up.
