The app says I have no characters
I have 3 characters but the app says I don't and I can't send my stuff over

If you played D1 on a legacy console you'll need to do an account transfer on your current gen console. Download D1 from your console store, there is a free trial version, and when you open it follow the prompts for an account transfer and that could potentially fix it.
