"Maximum time reached" are you kidding me?
So I was running some friends through the Nightfall, and we started farming Anomalies in order to get our time back up before the final boss. After killing a certain number of Anomalies, they no longer granted us time. Instead, it would say "maximum time limit reached" we only had 8 mins, from that point, to reach and kill the boss.
Really Bungie? Are you -blam!-ing serious? You put a cap on the number of anomalies we are allowed to find and kill? On top of this, you put a boss who runs away every 3 seconds for 20 seconds to a minute!? What the hell kind of bullshit is that?
So, you'll fix the things that players can benefit from, but still can't fix the things that players are afflicted by? Can patch that little tidbit no problem, but can't be bothered to fix the arc steam bug and the Prism/Momentum bugs? That's the name of the game?
Seriously, just get rid of the -blam!-ing timer! It's not even a challenge modifier it's just annoying. I'm tired of turning these Nightfalls into a glorified speed run. This is, by far, the dumbest decision you guys have made, about Nightfalls.
Let's also not forget that they put diminishing returns on loot. First event, I got 2500 glimmer. Next run was 1500, the next one was 500 and I no longer got gear or tokens from the chests, and the fourth was 300 glimmer and nothing else. What the actual -blam!- were you thinking?
Edit: let's be clear about this: yes, we did finish the Nightfall. I only did the Anomaly farm because the other two guys wanted to try and get their Rat king, and I was dreading the boss and his habit of poofing away every 5 seconds. It was a first-time run, so no i didnt have the anomalies, or the enemy makeup or boss strategy memorized or any of that trial and error stuff down yet. So go ahead and get off your high horse about "ha ha you couldn't beat the Nightfall git gud." Cuz if that's all you have to say, then you're the reason this community is regarded as being so goddamned toxic.

How many times can one go back to shoot anomalies now? Just once? I haven't tried this (first time hearing about it). Just curious.

5 RepliesHonestly, the timer is just annoying as it creates afrtificial difficulty instead of modifiers making it a challenge. I am not good with the timer nor do I appreciate it. I like to go through and kill everything before I move on, not run past it because that is a minute wasted.

Don't forget to mention about the Arms Dealer strike to get the exotic shotgun. You'll cap out before all of the anomalies were destroyed. My team and i didnt even try to cheese the time either and there were still enough anomalies left to add another 3 to 4 minutes.

I totally agree with you... why put so many opportunities to get time back if you're just going to put a cap on it anyway.... me and my friends were trying to do that god awful exotic shotgun quest....but we noticed that the cap always seem to appear close to the end....right before you have to fight 13 over powered cabal....and wait a minute in 25 seconds for the stupid elevator to reach the top....I think the workers at bungie are starting to lose their minds. It's nothing but copy paste everything....my prediction for the prestige raid....is that bungies going to put a timer for 20 minutes!!...lol...because putting everything in a timer is there only talent they have!.... I can understand I do this crap for the nightfall....but don't do it to the raid or requests!!...

2 RepliesI love all the people here making fun for him farming the anomalies. Doing the rat king quest this week is almost impossible anyway. I have my two but feel genuinely sorry for ANYONE who needs to do it this week. This nightfall is sht anyway. Prestige mode and maximum time? LMAO

I won't be a dick and laugh or anything like that about the farming of the anomalies. My team did that too once, however I didn't see it as necessary but I get what you mean. The things that help are fixed while so many harmful bugs seem to never go away. I hate the boss too, the rest of the strike is fun but not the boss. He's an absolute pansy. My advice is just wait for rat king (good for infusion, not much else). And speaking of harmful bugs, just gonna use this time if that's cool to mention a bug bungo seem to have actively ignored since the dawn of D1. Scatter grenades on the voidwalker... They freaking bounce every second time I throw them. They do that detonate on impact as they should as useless as they've already been made, they're even worse! Buff the damage for PvE and PvP and fix the god damn things. "Oh but then with the chaos tree they'll be OP with the tracking, waaah". No they won't, you've practically gotta stand still even with the tracking to die from them let alone take the damage because the tracking, like on bungies favourite warlock exotic (nothing manacles) still sucks as well. Buff voidwalker, take away the slowvabomb bomb and give back Lance. P.S yeah this nightfall is a huge pain without any burns... I mean, it's only week 3 and they throw this at everyone? Jeez what's next. Lightswitch is back too?

Every time my clanmates and me finished the nightfall we reached the boss with 10 minutes on the timer. One guy focused on anomalies and the other 2 advancing. What is flawed here is your strategy or your execution

8 RepliesThis timer bullshit needs too -blam!-ing go. I was 290 when doing this week's nightfall and it took us over 4 hrs to complete. Just wait until you try and get the legend of acrius! Bungie has completely -blam!-ed nightfall. I am soo -blam!-ing mad right now I have spent all -blam!-ing day with various teams all at recommended 300 power and haven't even come close to completing the arms dealer strike portion of the Acrius exotic quest.

Datto literally walked through the entire Nightfall, killing every enemy he came across, did a public event, and still had over 4 minutes left on the clock without doing the "Anomaly farm". All I see here is Bungie stopping you from "Farming Anomalies" and you getting incredibly butt hurt about it. Again, I'll point to Datto's video, if you get every single Anomaly once, you won't get a cap on your Time. That'll only happen if you try cheesing the anomalies.

12 RepliesThe recommended level for Nightfall is 240 and this week's Nightfall is most assuredly WAY more difficult than a fireteam of 240s can handle. My fireteam was between 285-300 for this week's and we were getting one-shotted and sniped like nobody's business. The dregs on pikes were one shot killing us. Fallen enemies' melee hits were 1-2 hit kills. The timer just piles needless misery on top of that. I know a lot of players love the timer but the majority hate it. If Bungie dropped the timer, remember that there is still a challenge for finishing with 5 minutes left. You can still do that if you prefer the challenge. Here's a suggestion for all of you "you must not be very good; why don't you just git gud" players. Have your fireteam leader set a stopwatch for 5 minutes on a countdown. When it reaches zero, the leader just takes you all to orbit no matter where you are in the strike. Can't do it in that time? Why don't you just git gud? The timer is completely arbitrary. Maybe 9 minutes is "too easy" for some players but 5 minutes is too harsh. Where's the happy medium? The only thing the timer truly does is guarantee that a team can't simply methodically proceed through on pure grit and determination patiently and beat the Nightfall eventually because they'll run out of time well before the boss.

So hold on, you were using an exploit (aka cheating) to get more time and you are angry at bungie because they put a cap limit in the number of anomalies you can kill? lol Maybe you should have just play the strike instead of trying to cheat. I know you are gonna say that the strike is glitched etc and they deserve it but come here then and complaint of how glitchy is the strike and not that you cannot cheat because bungie put mechanism to prevent this... I think I had seen it all now. BTW this will happen even if you dont glitch, I think there is like a max number of anomalies that you can shoot/activate per strike, probably around 95% after that it will not allow you do to shoot anymore, I had the same issue with the arms dealer. What is wrong with people

Wtf are u guys doing to suck at this nightfall, this was the first nightfal i completed with 10 minutes left on the timer. NO GLITCHES USED.. you get 15 mins to kill the boss if u play the strike casually...
