Exotic Engram Drop Rate Quietly Nerfed In Last Patch
Don't know if anyone else has noticed, but the exotic engram drop rate had to have been nerfed in the last patch. Before the last patch, I was getting at least 2 during call of arms crucial play, per character and at least one every 4-5 heroic publics, per character. Even using fireteam medallions, I have had just 2 drop (over all 3 characters) since the last patch, including Caydes treasure maps. Also, the engrams are only rolling to the same light level or below. The rewards are bad enough in this game, added to the light level lock on the engrams.

Farmed for 5+ hours yesterday, got one exotic, and it dropped mechaneers tricksleves... bungie is really pushing random rewards and it is really broken.

I have put in some hours grinding for exotics and always come up with nothing. But perhaps it's bungies way of making a more noticeable change for the update next weekly reset when the give the three of coins back to xur. Not to mention the added buy an exotic engram from xur. But nonetheless there is some serious bs going on. Some one has dropped the ball at bungie big time.

I agree. Pubic Events have a lower drop rate on Exotics and they seem to give zero Clan XP now. They definately changed something.

I feel ya. Ive had two exotic engram drops in 30 plus hours of play. Countless public events, strikes, and 2 nightfalls, with and without medallions. I really miss being able to get exotics from three-of-coins. The drop rate right now is awful. I'm holding out hope that this was just an 'off' week for me.

Do you have any evidence that isn't anecdotal? Seriously, during D1 we had so many conspiracy theorists claiming a pattern to the RNG. Ranging from 'drop rates nerfed' to 'dancing in front of Rahool increases Legendary/Exotic drop rates'. I'd believe it if it was in the TWAB, otherwise, it's just more paranoid conspiracies.

I thought they just nerfed the medallions but the drop rate makes much more sense. I've been trying to grind for exotic engrams to up my light as I'm mainly a solo player but I'm lucky if i get one exotic from grinding the full 4 hours of the medallion. When i finally do get an exotic to drop it's usually something I've had twice before and at my current light level...... so, useless. I've come to the conclusion that the only time you can up your light is at reset when we get some fresh milestones to achieve! From a solo perspective at least, the game is only worth playing 2 days of the week if your goal is hitting max light.

Could just be RNG. I did not received a single exotic engram last night during about 2.5hrs of event grinding. Who knows.

True....they make public events become useless. I can feel it..no drop at all. They turn it to useless legendary engrams. Even the finally drop..the base light level is not higher than current LL. NF no fun, Raid no fun. So..nothing left...

Disagree on exotic drop rate, but have noticed that Bungie took away Public Events as a source of Clan XP - they used to be worth 250 Clan XP and are now worth zero. Patrol missions for 250 each, I guess - screw strikes.
