Seriously, who reviewed the Titan Planet gear set and said, "Yeah, our players are gonna LOVE that." • The Mobility / Resilience / Recovery is just as useless as it was in D1 • Using armor Mods to make up for the removal of weapon perks? Sad. • What happened to fastball? Can't throw grenades for shit now • Exotics are literally Subclass abilities stripped from D1 applied to Armor[/spoiler] LOOT [spoiler]• Gear/Engram rewards dropping well below even my combined average power level across all 3 characters • Luminous Engrams and Exotic Engrams could go either way depending on which slot the item drops in • Looting 5 chests/resource nodes within a 5-minute period locks out loot? Sorry, What!? • Rare engrams as Nightfall Rewards? • Where the hell are all the goddamn kinetic weapon Mods!? • Seriously Banshee, just stop with the weapons, okay? we don't want 'em anymore[/spoiler] COSMETICS [spoiler]• Single use shaders? • Single use transmat effects? • Cosmetic slot for Auras, but they reset and are removed every week? • No Shader / Sparrow / Ship collections • No Sparrow upgrading • No "Trick" sparrows • No Vehicle variety like in D1 • I don't give a damn about emotes[/spoiler] STRIKES [spoiler]• No scoring challenges • No choice • No Heroic playlist • No introduction? I don't know or care about who any of these baddies are • No DPS options due to scarce Power Ammo and weapon class overhauls • No point after Power Level 265 • No Strike Specific Gear[/spoiler] VENDORS [spoiler]• RNG rewards instead of selecting/buying • No factions (yet) • Ikora is literally going to be ignored forever after everyone gets their gear from her • Hawthorne is just an engram postmaster • Tess can f**k right off (though I do like bright engrams as an alternative to Silver) • Benedict (while an interesting character) should never have been a Raid vendor. Seriously, Bungie? • Planetary resources do not grant NEARLY enough rep for as scarce as they are • Sloane and Asher Mir just bother me aestheically, Devrim's a'ight[/spoiler] RAID [spoiler]• Tokens are NOT loot •Shaders are NOT loot • KEYS ARE NOT LOOT • RNG Raid gear vendor is the WORST IDEA EVER SUGGESTED • Chest keys? You're going to make us complete ANOTHER encounter to unlock the loot we should have gotten from the encounter we already completed? WHAT? • Guided games are going to flop. There's no way ANYONE is going to seriously have the patience to spend HOURS guiding fresh players through the Raid • Raid mechanics are interesting, but not as rewarding as taking down big bosses, so I'm a little disappointed but I don't hate it[/spoiler] Basically every advancement made over the lifespan of D1 was forgotten/removed/or plain reversed in D2. There are a dozen other issues that could be pointed out, but I feel like Bungie already knows what's wrong with their game. That's why so many of these points were conveniently hidden during the Beta. So that players wouldn't know just how far a step back D2 actually is in terms of quality of life improvements. Now for the positive: I still enjoy playing the game. I love shooting stupid aliens in their stupid faces. (Figuratively, the aliens are actually quite cool) I love getting sweet looking armors and pimping it out with a variety of shaders and making MY Guardian stand out among the hundreds of others out there in the system. I enjoy the high-stakes Trials mode even though D2's PVP is seriously slowed to a crawl. I enjoy the difficulty and team-oriented mechanics of the Raids and their respective loot. As a game I love the potential that Destiny has to be great, I just think that many of the changes made in D2 weren't the step forward that players were expecting. And that makes me sad.
