I recall that the biggest problem with Late D1 was the fact that abilities were much stronger than the weapons. Instead of having the weapons buffed Bungie decided to nerf the subclasses to the ground (relatively speaking) and on top of that even dare to nerf weapon's damage output.
Now when I look at the threads here on Bungie I see no one mentioning this. How? This is the BIGGEST nerf Bungie has ever put out yet I hear zero streamers complain about it. The amount of skill it takes to win a fight has been reduced so much... even when looking at the completely garbage ability-meta that Destiny Year 3 was. How is this possible? What the -blam!- is going on here?
I must admit that I can't care less any more. I mean, I fell into the trap of thinking Destiny had potential with a developer like Bungie backing it, so I understand that I once was delusional. The problem is though that it would only be natural more people saw through this non-sense balance as well. I roam these forums seeing threads almost complaining about a "44 damage" headshotting MIDA Multitool. This is absolute blasphemy. It's ludicrous.
Please let me know if I am being absolutely delusional or that Bungie has actually pulled a 10/10 Houdini trick on us. Just kidding, you don't have to tell me. It's blatantly obvious they have. I don't think any statistic could disagree with this, regardless of how it's being interpreted.
I still would like to see people having ludacrous opinions ranting against this. Have a go <3

Edited by EL_Dingleberry: 9/18/2017 4:38:34 AMAsk and you shall receive... (edited a typo) I've been making my way around and it blows my mind as well. How are there not more posts about this? Feeling like a badass space mute is the number one reason I went all in on Destiny after I played the original beta back in the day. COD and team based shooters felt bland (except BF, but still not the same) compared to the way that Destiny played. It was a refreshing and super gratifying experience that never grew old. I've put a ridiculous amount of hours in as well, I honestly don't even want to know how many. They've taken away so much and pigeon-holed every PvP player into a lesser role that has very little importance or freedom. In PvE, the fundamental changes aren't as magnified compared to PvP (for me) but you can't help feeling restricted across the board. Plus, gone are the days of me tinkering with my gear and skill trees which was such a personalized and purposeful thing. The people that say "git gud" and "you relied on your powers" are missing the point... or hopefully, they're just trolling and actually agree. Destiny has ALWAYS had team shooting, and if you actually worked to improve this with a team, you were probably winning the majority of your games. Teamshot was a vital tool, especially in Trials, but you didn't have to sit at a corner, dry humping your teammate the entire time to be effective. If players on your team were skilled, you had all the options in the world. Variety is the spice... but I'm only tasting salt after playing the once glorious Trials this weekend... And don't think its because I don't know how to strafe (sluggishly now) and shoot people in the face with a multi-tool or auto rifle while cuddling my battle buddies. Wake the fak up.
