Hello, All codes entered on Bungie.net are attached to the Bungie.net profile they are redeemed on. Do you still have access to the Bungie.net account your Xbox profile was attached too?

  • That's the account I am on right now, so, yes, I do. Nonetheless it shows nothing at redeemed codes ^^

  • When did you redeem your code? If it was on this Bungie.net account and you didn't generate a code it should show under your redeemed codes page on a web browser, it won't work in the app. https://www.bungie.net/en/Profile/Codes/

  • I redeemed the code before the official guide to linking the accounts etc. released back in April. Also I checked on my phone, not through the app but with the normal chrome browser. It says "No results" then underneath that a picture of Destiny 2 (which I believe is an ad) and the question whether I want to redeem codes. Still really confused, need to get this to work before the beta drops this month :S

  • What account did you redeem it on? This account you are on wasn't made until July, it will be on the Bungie.net account you redeemed the code on in April.

  • My Xbox live account which is linked to this account as stated in my initial post. As the accounts are linked I don't see what you mean by it's on the account I redeemed it on? When I go to the site where you can redeem codes all my accounts are listed as linked, my Xone account my blizzard account and my PS4 account as they are all linked.

  • When codes are redeemed on Bungie.net they are attached to your Bungie account only, not to your sign in methods "PlayStation, Xbox, or Blizzard", so your code will be on that Bungie account your Xbox account was attached too. Do you still have a way to sign in to your older Bungie.net account?

  • Didn't linking my account basically ''replace my account''? If I sign in via Xbox Live I end up on my OranGeFroG account. Other ways to get in?

What you did was move your sign-in credentials from your Bungie account to a new Bungie account. But that does not transfer the items from your old account, they are nontransferable. Now you are currently locked out from your old Bungie account, and as of now there is no way to reconnect them. But the good news is Bungie is working on a way to have a form of Account Recovery.
Bungie.net Account Recovery Bungie.net will soon receive an update to support a form of Account Recovery. If a player has lost access to a Bungie.net account through the account linking process, we will offer a means of recovering and re-linking the original Bungie.net profile to desired credentials. This feature will not provide a means of recovering deleted Destiny characters. Players may view our deleted character policy here.
https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/46118 Additional information concerning Bungie.net Account Recovery will become available when it is ready. Please stay tuned to @BungieHelp on Twitter for future announcements about the feature.

  • So you are telling me, because I did all I was supposed to do (according to bungie) I am now locked away from my early access and I have to hope that within the next 5 days they find a solution for this? That's hilarious and I am majorly disappointed! I mean, it can't be they didn't know this would happen as the codes were given out so early by retailers, putting up a warning or a disclaimer isn't too much to ask for, now is it? Anyhow, thanks for the bad news, at least now I know what's going on. Have a nice one

  • Hello, I have some good news for you, Bungie.net Account Recovery is now live, you will be able to link your Xbox profile back to your old Bungie.net profile. Here is how it will work, and as a personal suggestion I would recommend you don't do this until tomorrow after 10 AM PDT when the site is fully active again. Bungie.net Profile Recovery
Reclaiming a Bungie.net profile that has been closed or lost through account linking If a player has lost access to a Bungie.net profile by removing all associated authentication methods, they may proceed through the following steps to reclaim their account: Identify the authentication method used to create the Bungie.net profile that was closed or lost Ensure the authentication method has been unlinked from any active Bungie.net profiles Click "Create a new account" and use the account credentials that were originally linked to the desired account Select "Recover" next to the desired Bungie.net profile and complete the account reclamation process, which may be identified by profile membership ID's or Bungie.net join dates

Please note the following: For a Bungie.net profile to be recovered, it cannot be linked to any active authentication methods. If linked, it will not be presented to the player during the account recovery flow. Players will have up to 90 days to recover lost or closed Bungie.net profiles. After 90 days, this process will be unavailable.
Creating, Linking, and Recovering Bungie.net Profiles If you have any questions please let me know.

Just tried it and it doesn't give me the recovery option it simply created a new blank account.. I guess I am doomed ^^ Any ideas what caused this? I did follow the instructions, unlinked the xbox live account from my OranGeFroG one went to the create a new account site, used the same xbox live credentials and it created a new account, no recovery option I did change my gamer tag a few months ago but that shouldn't have an impact on my Xbox live account credentials, right? *Edit: just realized you wrote I should wait, guess I was too quick. My bad, will try it again tomorrow if it doesn't work I'll just give up. Thanks for the help!

  • Yes try again tomorrow, and do you have a second account attached to that other account, like a extra PlayStation or second blizzard on your old Xbox Bungie account?

  • CanI13allistiQ should be the gamer tag the account was originally created with.

  • Did you have more then one account attached to your old Bungie account, such as a PlayStation account too?

  • My PS4 account might have been attached but is now also linked to my Blizzard account

  • Maybe you should re-link the Xbox account to this account again, and try to see if the old account appears when trying your old PlayStation account, the last linked method is what you need to use to recover. So if you have PlayStation and Xbox linked the second one you unlink from the Bungie account would be the last authentication method.

  • Same issue as when I tried with my xbox account, I unlink it as per guide and when I try to sign in/ go to account creation it won't give me the option to recover the old account, as a matter of fact it will only let me either create a new account or link to an already existing account. I'm starting to think the account recovery system never worked for me as the same thing happened when I followed the guide doing it for my xbox account.. Cause this time around enough time should have passed for it to be working. Could it be because the account creation date is a long time ago? I started playing Destiny day 1 so my old account should be quite old by now? Any suggestions as to why this might be happening?

  • Do you have a link to your old profile, I tried searching that name you gave and couldn't locate it. Do you know what account you first started your old Bungie account with? Was it the same Xbox or PlayStation accounts you have now? Did you do name change on your Xbox account after making the Bungie.net account at all?

  • I changed my gamer tag once on my Xbox account and yes the account name at creation was CanI13allistiQ and after the game tag change it was JustCallMeCee. For my PS4 account the name was always the same GiffManaKOTL. But as the recovery didn't work on my Xbox account it created a blank account under JustCallMeCee on the 23rd of August for which I get the recovery option now. Prior to that there was no recovery option just as it's now with my PS4 account.

  • Okay, thanks I think I located your old account now, it was in your name change it was made in 2015, if you orphaned it in the last 90 days it should have worked, unfortunately I'm not sure why it isn't. If I learn more information I will let you know.
