Longer development is gonna mean a better game.
and no, this does not mean cancellation [/spoiler

The game is going to fail upon release. It's hilarious how they gave up on making the enviroments fully destructible in the single player story mode to focus on having fully destructible environments in multiplayer, when a week after release no one will care about the multiplayer for Crackdown. Just like what happened in the second one. When will developers stop shoe-horning multiplayer and pvp into good single player games? The playerbase literally never cares. The gimmick of having all the buildings being able to be destroyed is obviously cool, but it's not going to keep people engaged for years, or even months. They're wasting so so much time and resources for a multiplayer that will not be cared about. Might as well just burn your money at that point.

I hope it will be good. 1 and 2 were fun
-
It does make me worried about the game. This will now be basically 2 years of delay considering this game originally had a 2016 release date/window. 2 years of delay is very concerning to me, that's not some spit and polish that needs to be done, 2 years worth of work is major changes.

Edited by ThunderD: 8/18/2017 2:34:34 PMI'm always okay with a delay....it's when it says cancelled, that is what you don't want to see.

Edited by DeusFever: 8/18/2017 2:19:58 PMAs a PS4 owner, I am also fine with the Crackdown 3 delay. I would not be fine with a Spider-Man delay. That game is looking so good. I want to play it so bad. Also Detroit. And God of War IV. Jesus, 2018 is looking like another 2017 for PlayStation. I suppose the delay of Crackdown 3 makes 2018 look a little better for Microsoft.
-
Now that isn't the case all the time. Look at NMS for example. But if it's delayed so we can get the destruction in SP and not just co op then that's great. Crackdown is a fun filler killer and i love games like that. So i don't mind waiting for this at all.
-
That's what they said about no mans sky
-
How long is the delay ? This game was revealed at E3 in May 2013, it must have been in development at that time, we're 4 years down the line and it's delayed longer.
-
Crackdown never interested me, but hopefully it does well.
-
I never played crackdown
-
I've never ever been a fan of the franchise but I know it has its fan base. I think we can all agree that Crackdown 3's 2017 E3 showing was underwhelming so hopefully it will benefit from some extra development time.
-
More excited for Super Lucky's Tale tbh. Can't wait for X1X to drop!
-
I didn't really get into Crackdown, but hopefully the delay means the developers polish the game up. I mean if PlayStation exclusives always get delayed, what's wrong with anyone else doing the same? At least the game isn't getting canceled.
-
I'm also fine with game delays, as opposed to releasing half finished products! Crackdown was never a game I was interested in though.
-
All those 12 year olds are gonna be riled up now, better give them a juice box.
-
The game was having problems anyway. The mp wasn't going to release alongside The game. And the game looked like shit.
-
Sometimes, sometimes it means there's problems. This sounds more like they just need a little extra time. Not the best scenario though, considering they've been talking about this game for so long and it was one of the bigger titles at MS's e3 this year. But shit happens.

I really enjoyed the first 2 games but that was years ago. For me crackdown 3 took too long to come out. I'm not a teenager anymore and it didn't look all that interesting from what I've seen. Some cool concepts but the delays don't look good, its either being polished up or its a mess.
-
Let them have their time. Publishers need to realize that if a dev needs more time to make a game good, the player base is willing to accept that. Hopefully it gets the polish it needs.
-
They just have to wait to couple it with the halo 6 beta
-
That long development didn't make Final Fantasy XV worth the 3 extra year wait.
-
Game looks cartoonish anyway, pass
-
Smells like a possible cancellation to me. 🐒

That's not always the truth :/
