How do you get light past 330?
My light is now sitting at around 330 on my hunter. I have gained light quite quickly, but I feel like it is slowing down now. So what is the best activity to do to get decent gear? I have completed all the main taken king and the base rise of iron quest line. I have an exotic machine gun which has 330 attack, and my other weapons have similar attack. I played a heroic siva crisis strike earlier but I really struggled, but if I play normal siva crisis I don't get any gear that is decent. So what should I do to try and boost my light?

Grind heroic strikes. Equip the drops each round and keep grinding. For engrams, equip highest light, decode engram, equip, decode, equip,.... Level up factions, vanguard, etc make sure you have your highest light gear on when getting the rewards. Blue engrams will get you to 365, strikes will get you to 390, raids, nightfalls, factions, including queen, and gunsmith will get you to 400. It won't take long

Iron banner made it stupid easy to get 400 light. Within 2 weeks of returning to destiny from before roi, I now have all 3 400 light guardians. Doing some of the easy raids or trials will get you a good increase in light.

I played siva strikes to 360, played Heroic strikes to 390, and raided to 400.

3 RepliesI got mine up quickest by donating to factions and cashing exotic engrams while wearing my best gear. Got to 394 without even buying roi, you've just got to put the time in.

U can get to 385 in like 2 or 3 hours doing strikes . Then it takes a few more hours to get to 400 ( raids are best for this.)

Day One Rise of Iron players will gladly remember the first few days of sitting 10-15 Light underlevelled with Arc Burn. I felt Bungie did a poor job in bridging the game between 335/40 Light and 350 Light.

At 330 literally anything you do will increase light. The biggest thing is save blue engrams up for a bit. When you are full you then strategically decrypt them. Ideally you should have several of each type. Find your lowest light gear and decrypt 1. Equip it and repeat this until you are out of engrams. Don't decrypt a piece if your current piece of gear is higher than your overall level. Once you make it to level 385 to 390 is where you have 5o change tactics. Also. Save all legendary engrams till you get to 365, and all exotics till 390, It's tempting but trust me it is worth the wait. And with this method you will be at 395 to 400 a lot quicker than you realize.

Just do strikes, 320 is just fine all the way to 390. Spend your glimmer to rank up Faction. Do at least one public event a day ( you get a purple) and patrols for glimmer and faction rep. Those two things are all you need and can run it solo. I got to 400 like that. Save your exotic engrams and a few purple for each slot. Once you hit 390 it slows to 1-3 points per item, so it can crawl and saving up engrams helps. And always when decoding engrams do it one at a time and equip the higher gear as you decode. Don't worry about what to keep or dismantle until your done.

Just keep playing. All purple and exotic engrams will drop higher light level then your total average. Do those strikes, bounties and pop those 3ofC. Upgrade your factions. Use exotics as upgrad food for legendary armour and weapons. If you want the exotic back later you can always get it back from the kiosk. Crucible drops. 400 really shouldn't take long anymore.

Three of Coins is your friend: exotic engrams are the most reliable source of light upgrades in my experience, so maximizing your chances to get them is a solid plan. Spend some time in Archons Forge with a good team, or even a solid set of randoms. The forge drops certain pieces up to 400. If it seems like it's always empty when you get there, run down the lower cave passage until it shows you've switched into the adjacent zone, and then turn around and come back. If you hear the alarm go off while heading back, there's a good chance you're coming into a battle in progress and you'll have help and a chance for some loot. Do the weekly grind for the RoI artifacts that you pick up inside the temple, they also go up to 390 (400? don't remember). EDITED TO ADD: Also, skeleton key chests in the [url=http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-12-16-destiny-skeleton-key-loot-list-strike-specific-gear-rewards-4677]Siva heroic strikes[/url] will be a reliable source for upgrades. EDITED TO ADD: Donate as many resources as you can to your faction to level it up, which will give you gear or weapon upgrades. Make sure you collect the upgrades from them each time you level up with the faction. Again, be sure you're wearing your highest level gear when you collect these rewards.

Do archons forge and heroic strikes til you higher than 380. Use your best gear til 350 then find a good legendary sniper and have a gjallerhorn and infuse everything into those. That's my preferred way, I've help friends jump from level 39 to lv40 LL 385 in just 4 days using that method
