While I agree our character should speak. It's totally pointless complaining about it. They are not going to completely rework the script, hire voice actors and record them and rework all the cutscenes in one month. It just wouldn't be possible.

I don't know, man. They hired Nolan halfway through what, year 2???, to replace Dinklage. It IS doable. He did EVERY line that our ghost had and continued on after that...

Replacing dinklebot is one thing. It didn't require any rewriting of scripts or reanimating of cutscenes. It's just using the same lines but with a different voice actor. Giving your guardian a voice I imagine would require extensive rewrites and remaking cutscenes (especially ones where the guardian doesn't wear a helmet). I just can't see that happening in one month. Also Dinklebot only got redone after a years worth of bad reviews and internet memes. They're not going to spend all that time and money changing the game over a few complaints on the forums.

I meant it's doable in the future. "Expansion" or something. Not now of course, with the game being sent to retailers, like this week lol

Edited by Uncanny_Vale: 7/31/2017 7:06:37 AMHa ha. Maybe. Depends how bad the feedback is after it's released I guess. For me though, while I would of preferred a voiced character it's not that big a deal. I've played plenty of games with a "silent protagonist" that I've loved. Fallout 3 and Bioshock for example.

Destiny is different. It's the only game of its kind. Ya know. To drop something so simple that was shown in the vanilla, is kinda disgusting. The polls have shown, by the ones I've seen on here, that people do want some dialogue. It's the little things that immerse us. I don't need to be talking to the TV to narrate the story. Just my opinion.

I'm not disagreeing. It was a bad decision to not voice the main character. I'm just saying for me it's not that big of a deal. Obviously for others it is. I'm prepared to at least reserve my judgement until I've played the full game.
