People are pointing out that gun damage is not good against AI in the beta. Do you remember the Destiny beta? Max level was 8 and the Devil's Lair Strike was level 8 as well.
I remember having to sit at that Walker for ages chunking away its health. I also remember the strike being not easy. Damage wasn't high, and enemies kicked my ass.
Sound familiar? That's because we're level with the enemies in the beta just like the Destiny beta. This means we won't be doing substantial damage to enemies and shouldn't expect to have an easy time as we do in Destiny currently.

Note how you were basically one-shotting those hive thrall with that Hand cannon. You're not able to do that in the D2 beta. Which is one of the reasons why Bungie is agreeing that PVE weapon damage needed to be looked at. Also you didn't risk running out of ammo during the Devil Walker fight unless you were either trying to solo it.....or were being forced to do so because the rest of your fireteam was dead.
-
You can one shot war beasts, goblins, shanks, and psions in the D2 strike with precision hits.
-
Not from the typical engagement ranges that you have to fight during the strike. ...and the TTK with PRs, ARs and SRs are up noticeably from D1.
-
Low Tier Enemies in the D2 beta could be one shot.
-
Only Vex goblins.
-
Precisely why I didn't buy D1 at launch and waited 4 months and first DLC for fixing the shite. Woked ok for me back then so I'll probably do tge same for D2. I am not writing this one off but I was really hoping that Bungie would have learned it's lesson... Unless it's another money grabbing carrot on the stick conspiracy...

And the guns had no real mods either. Jury is still out on how much effect they may have.
-
A "Hung Jury" perhaps?
-
I saw a re skinned Hung Jury on the Iron Temple crucible map introduction LOL So it is still in the game :)

i get your point, but if gear is legendary, shouldnt be as useless as white gear, which is how it seems in the video, and the beta.
-
Seriously. Besides that, people complaining that we're doing crap damage with max level and all legendary gear. But those couple blue items that dropped for xbox players were all above 200 light, which tells us this "legendary" gear they gave us in the beta is probably crap, and not at all a good indication of what the endgame experience (where we will spend most of our time) will actually be like.

that wasn't my problem with the beta. my problem was boredom. Nothing dynamic about that strike at all. I ran it six times.... every time the same enemy spawned in the same spot the same way with the same result. It felt like it was a game that was already 5 years old. I was so unimpressed by it that i only played it six times to see just how fast i could finish it. 18:06 was my best time and i don't even feel satisfied with that because i just wasn't even fun.
-
Also, though I'm not saying for sure, perhaps the strike will be updated in the game. We'll just have to see.
-
Yeah i just have no faith in this game. And the problem with Destiny is that it takes a sound investment of time to really get to know the game. I just don't think i can make that investment of my time with something that i have very little faith in. I'm not writing the game off, but i won't be buying it at launch. I'm gonna wait and see.
-
More power to you, my friend.
-
I mean, given how every new expansion to D1 altered at least a few strikes... I'mma go with probably.
-
You have a point, but I wasn't responding to that aspect of the beta.
-
Having crap stats and low damage output for a game we've never seen before much less played is one thing. Having crap stats and bullshit damage output in a beta that isn't that much different than the game we've sunk three years of our lives in... that's something else entirely.

Edited by Oneirophobia: 7/25/2017 3:14:17 AMGo back to any level in Destiny at the same level and you will notice a difference.

Edited by Lizard King: 7/25/2017 10:48:31 AMDude plain new lvl 2 guardian in D1 with white weapons is more powerful then D2 lvl 20 guardian with legendary weapons, Simple as that.

Playing, surely ?

I have evidence while you don't. Please don't claim something without corroboration.
