Why so slooooooooow? (D2 Beta Feedback)

My GODS, my new D2 (Beta) Titan runs slower than a crippled snail struggling through tar! What the hell happened to my glorious Titan agility? I get that they are trying to make a 'classic' tank (sacrificing movement for increased armour etc) but the defence increase is negligible and the movement speed is INCREDIBLY slow. Anyone else feel like this? Edit: Thanks for all the feedback everyone! Looks like it isn't just us Titans that have been hit hard in the movement stakes, a lot of unhappy Warlocks out there too! So, feedback wise: @Bungie - can we get a (significant) movement boost across the board to make us all feel nimble/agile again? I understand that heavier armour = slower movement, but if there is a blanket movement speed increase across the board, the %'s will remain the same, whilst significantly improving game play experience for all of us along the way.

        • My only bit of feedback is pretty much this. Everything feels so slow. Is that a creative decision; i.e.- we're losing The Light, or is it tactical? Either way it wouldn't hurt to increase the pace by even just 25% imo. I'm interested in seeing how Bungie responds to all feedback.

          • Everything has been nerfed. Weapon damage makes TTK ridiculously long. I've had gun fights that last more than 1 clip/magazine. Movement speed is slow across the board and they ruined the jumps. Recharge times are "trickle" slow. I'm hoping that's due to lack of armor perks but since we can't increase INT or DISC anymore, who knows if that will ever be able to be modified with armor perks. Grenades are about as dangerous as noise makers now. An attached fusion grenade didn't even take down the shield all the way in PVP. These are grenades, not firecrackers. Since when is a grenade not a OHK? I get that maybe they were too prevalent in D1 or recharged too fast, but to nullify their damage making them basically a joke is just too much. Shoulder charge is nothing more than a melee...that takes away your melee ability. Again, it's been rendered useless. Nova bombs are pathetically slow. I think most guardians can just jump over it now or sidestep it, or turn around and outrun it. Power ammo is like bigfoot. There's a lot of rumors about it being in-game but I won't believe it until I actually see it. Scout rifles...what happened to them? I found a pea shooter labeled a scout rifle but that can't be right. It wouldn't even break glass. Bungie is taking away all of the things that make Destiny different from every other vanilla FPS on the market today. I haven't' tried the hunter yet but I'm guessing they've bee neutered too. I guess I'll find out later today. C'mon Bungie! You've got a lot of work to do to fix this hot mess before its released or you're going to lose a lot of players.

            • I couldn't agree more. I have very much tried to stay away from news so that nothing is spoiled and I'm just a little shocked that we haven't heard much about the game (even dances) being drastically slowed down from those who played at the premiere and E3. It feels very uncomfortable, like my guardian not only lost their Light, but all will to fight. I just can't understand how y'all could spend 3 years tweaking and perfecting the mechanics of a game to throw it all away. I need to see changes. Your players are clearly in agreement on this. On the opposite end, I'm still very excited to play the story.

                      • If titans are the classic tanks then why are warlocks even slower than they were is destiny 1? I just dont jump as a warlock since its soo slow, I find myself having to write a will everytime I move 15 feet just incase I dont make it.

                        • I messed with my perks and put on some different armour, put a piece of movement based armour and went 7 3 3 on the stats and it all improved

                          • I think the default values need tweaked a bit. People have poor self control and will just max something out. I think the stats should have a minimum setting around 3 and that would alleviate a lot of people's issues. Recovery time (specifically delay till health regens) is painful. I'm on the fence about primaries still and don't really care about power weapons too much except for the low ammo drops. I'm assuming rockets and machine guns will be in the game similar to scorch cannons. I'm okay with that setup. I thought the strike was okay but I don't like endless waves of enemies. If people concentrate on adds then give them a few seconds to damage the boss. Run and gun is fun but endless add control or ignoring enemies to focus on the boss is not. I didn't have much issue with primary damage output but the shooting to reloading ratio needs adjusted a little. Increasing mag and reserves by 25-50% would likely fix the issue. I was also okay with super charge times but would like to see the damage go up slightly and the roaming time to increase moderately. Other ability timers could use some tweaking. Titan shield and grenades seemed okay but shoulder charge is a bit long. Hunter dodge should be sped up considerably. Haven't played the warlock yet. Overall the game seems alright but with limited content and no purpose for playing, it got boring pretty quick.

                              • My exact thoughts, great gun play terrible character and movement gameplay. I feel the same it's like I'm stuck in superglue. The worst thing is simple direction change and movement speed. Strafing is a joke and fast direction change is terrible.

                                      To make it play like Haloooooooo. But I'm not a rapper. And I think you meant speed and not agility. Titan agility is pretty terrible if you don't wear Garrison. Movement speed is now the same across all classes. Not that I agree with that, but yeah...

                                        • Does it feel like the Sunless Cell strike, when timescaling gets changed because of all the Taken mobs with ultra fast attack speed? Destiny engine obviously slows down the tick rate of the engine when many opponents are faster than your character.

                                            • This, the warlock floaty bullsheet actually slows you down. there's no feeling of "let's go kick ass" anymore it's sort of, "let's eat a sandwich and read the paper till we arrive". I hope they tweak it back towards the d1 feel for movement. This is the only thing I really don't like, everything else I quite enjoy.

                                            • Yeah I changed it to Initial burst of speed thinking it would speed him up a little.....it did now he shoots vertically up in the air, travels forward 1 foot then drops like a stone

                                            • You just need to adjust your abilities and armor perks to accommodate your playstyle. Instead of Strength, intillect and discipline you now have Mobility, Recovery, and Resilience (i think) which are affected by your armor. So you need to adjust those armor perks to whether you want to be a tank, but slower moving, or whether you want to be fast but are more vulnerable etc.

                                            • Change your jump to the strafe jump and switch your armor to give yourself more mobility. I thought the same thing until I did this.
