Can't get into the tower

Started a new character with my buddy. All was going great but now I can't get into the tower. If I'm in his fireteam I can but on my own I cant. I've watched all the cinematics and it still won't let me in. I'm stumped...help

Try replaying the mission A Guardian Rises. Be sure to watch all cutscenes and dont leave before the timer takes you to orbit.
