Hello, Guardians!
It seems that there is some confusion about the Veteran Rewards that will be received by Destiny players going into Destiny 2. Just so there is no confusion, the relevant details have been made bold to emphasise the key aspect of this week's TWAB:
Even before our old friend Cayde revealed that your stuff (but, more importantly, his stuff) would soon fall prey to the Red Legion, we let you know that we were going to honor our veteran players who join us again in Destiny 2. Today, we’re going to shine a little light on what you can expect if you count yourself among those ranks.
We say a little light, because we have competing goals to contend with on this subject. Some of the ways in which we’ll tip our hat to your legacy in Destiny 2, and some of the ways you’ll be able to show all the young pups that you’d become legend long before they were ever reborn in the Cosmodrome, are best left for you to experience for yourself. Others are little touches that will fall snuggly into the realm of “you just had to be there.” We’re not going to spoil them for you right here and right now.
On the other hand, we do have a handful of emblematic accomplishments that could compel you to tie up some loose ends this summer. We’d hate to have you look back on this time once Destiny 2 launches and wonder why we just didn’t let you know that if you’d just done that one last thing prior to August 1st, 2017, you’d have one more memento to add to your visible Destiny 1-era accomplishments in Destiny 2.
So, aside from the emblems that can be collected from those who have completed Moments of Triumph, Rise of Iron's Records Book and over 5000 Grimoire Score, there will be extra rewards that will be tied into the gameplay.
Ninjas/Cozmo, if you could be so kind as to sticky this up with the Beta Times, that would be rad. ^_^
I'll be getting battlegrounds as my veteran reward
-
How about an indestructible exotic Forklift sparrow as a veteran reward?
-
Its probably just going to be a couple of easter eggs
-
Zero interest in emblems, same for record books or grimoire.
-
I had all those things done since year 2 lol
-
Kinda think it would be cool if they gave us a legendary armor set that was based off the armor the 3 classes are wearing on the cover of D1. Call it "Armor of the First Guard" Flavor text could read something like "X crafted for outstanding services to the last city" X=Helmet, Chest Armor, Gauntlets, Boots, Marks, Cloaks, and Bonds
-
I personally hate the fact that they are having veteran rewards. Many of us are thinking about switching platforms. This should be a fresh start. Or they should allow people to import there characters on any platform.
-
Emblems would be cool, but if the "Queen's Guard" returns, I'll be wearing that. Unless there's something referencing Prince Uldren or the Awoken of The Reef, then I'll be wearing them.
-
What was the emblem for the grimoire score? I don't recall that.

Edited by Dark Raven 2501: 6/25/2017 9:01:16 AMThe real question is are they going to honour real veterans of this game or is it another case were bungie screws us all day one player and year one player as well just to promote destiny 2? Ps: for the idiots I'm talking about the rewards for veteran players not D2. next time use your brain first before opening your mouth.

Edited by Mic Robo: 6/25/2017 5:51:32 AMHas anything been said about players that move from one console family to the other? Are veteran rewards tied to our bungie.net accounts or the console we played Destiny 1 on? I would think it would be our bungie.net accounts, since I would think that would be easier to track for Bungie. Also, it would probably not make Sony too happy if potential converts from Xbox One decided not to join the dark side because they'd lose out on veteran rewards. EDIT: I've read info on PC, so that's why I didn't mention that platform.

Edited by Nike: 6/25/2017 11:23:23 AMIf anything we also might end up receiving exotic class armor. There's no need to sticky this, they'll make it clear in future updates when more stuff is announced :) ~TheGreatNike

This doesn't help the false outrage people want to spread man....the logic and evidence displayed here really hurts their need of announcing their butthurt because they couldn't read properly. Then again, they probably won't listen....like every other time. Good job anyway trying to dispell all the fake outrage.
-
The real question is...
Will PC get them?
Wonder what Luke Smith says tho

I know I would like to finish all the books etc. I have played since yr1 . Gt is same if you care to check.. I am having a difficult time finding a good group willing to help me out with wrath of the machine and the updated vault of glass. I have tried quite a number of times looking in recruitment and posting there also with no luck. I have been invited to party and game only to be kicked because I am honest and let them know I am not super proficient at the raid. Hence I have been more gun shy. Sorry for my rant. All in all I have enjoyed playing Destiny. Wishing you all well

Edited by Erijian: 6/24/2017 10:00:57 PMAs neat as emblems will be.. I'll probably not use any of them for more than a few months since there'll be better looking ones. Hoping the actual in-game rewards are better.
-
Those other offerings will make or break my decision to switch to PS4.
-
I wish they could do something better than Emblems. Maybe an armor set or even just a class item. A shader, even.
-
Imagine if you played destiny 1 and got some certain achievements, then you could choose 3 weapons and 5 armour pieces from destiny 1 and get them in destiny 2.
-
-
Honestly I couldn't care less about some emblems as a reward. Sure it's a nice touch and all but I'd say a good 70/80% be rocking same emblem so what's the point really.
-
I'm guessing easter eggs in d2.
-
Bump.
-
Bump. Yeah everyone seems to have missed that bit. The 7 emblems aren't the only 'reward' for veteran players.
