Communism is... difficult to implement and enforce without corruption or greed to say the least.

There is only a lower poor class that is all on equal footing and then a small much more wealthy elite class.

Communism heavily relies on the belief that people won't be evil to one another and will not do things out of their own interest. Jordan Peterson does a fantastic job at discussing why communism/postmodernism are deceitful and evil ideologies. Here are some great videos: https://youtu.be/uJKRTvHrEJ4 https://youtu.be/9Onj4Wx61ps https://youtu.be/0VwG6oaFxJs

People won't be motivated to work. The best government is a mix of capitalism which allows the motivated to thrive and succeed (which in turn motivates others) and stellar safety nets which provide decent education, good healthcare, and stellar safety to its citizens. Necessities for living (and to some extent the tools for bettering oneself) should be available to citizens, but people should always be able to rise far above the unmotivated if they work. I just also tend to think that once you start making a ton that your earnings should be taxed higher to help keep your fellow citizens healthy and able to better themselves. Now, there will be citizens that don't want to rise above existing those will be utter drains, but I feel like a desire for luxuries (seeing movies, ordering pizza, going to bars, buying a good TV) will motivate others into working hard.

Communist regimes require mass bloodshed and terror in order to form successfully. Tens of millions of Kulaks, bourgeoisie, 'counter-revolutionaries', workers and others have been ruthlessly exterminated by communists. Classicide (mass murder of a certain class) is a prerequisite to communism. Once communism is established, any opposition to the system must be removed by any means necessary in order for it to continue functioning properly.

Two words really: economic reductionism Marx's biggest fault was underestimating the powerful force of nationalism because he reduced everything down to one simple class division. Reductionism of any form is short-sighted and destined to failure.

Edited by Autolycus: 6/9/2017 10:28:37 PMState communism: literally solves none of the problems it identifies with capitalism, with the additional issue that because of poor communication of price signals, it can't recover from economic declines, leading to mass starvation and other catastrophes. Libertarian communism: two of the really good things about capitalism are value exchange and capital reinvestment. These are natural incentives that lead to economic growth and net increases in standards of living. By rejecting them, libertarian communism lacks the incentive framework for this progress, and probably wouldn't sustain itself.
