What happens to Oryx's Dreadnought in Destiny 2?

So we know the cabal invade and we are pretty scattered, but Destiny 2 so far only has 4 worlds. What happens to the dreadnought, is it still going to be above Saturn, do we find a way to blow it up? It seems pretty dangerous to have the flagship of the hive fleet just sitting right in our back garden just waiting to be used again.

  • It's actually just still in saturns rings.. If you go onto Titan you can use a sniper to see the massive hole Oryx left in the rings and see the dreadnaught in the dead centre

  • We don't know yet. What happens to the Taken, or the Splicers? Where's the Reef, the Iron Temple, and the Dreadnaught? What about the Hive from the Moon, the Vex taking Venus, and the Black Garden on (from) Mars? There are plenty of questions. All in due time, I hope.

  • The Cabal stole it. They weren't happy with how filthy it was. They're doing a series on HGTV, it's called This Old Ship, they hired Bob Vila to fix it up.

You mean SALADIN'S dreadnought now. Saladin needs a new base of operations.

    • It will be sold on Auto Trader by then. I checked the advertisement out, but I really think the mileage is wrong (only 1 trillion miles? Really??) and probably the Odometer has been rolled back. Also, they claim it has never been in any accidents and no previous owners too - I find both claims to be hard to believe.

Technically, I think it is just a dreadnaught, not THE dreadnaught, because in a few missions like Lost to Light or whatever missions where you are getting crotas soul to become ascendant hive, there was a line in Tolands Journal about how the dreadnaught is a shield from the light for the hive, and I'm no expert on Toland, but around Tolands lifetime, Oryx's dreadnaught wasn't there, so I assume that there were previous dreadnaught(s) so it's not nessecerily the flagship of the hive Edit: and if anyone came they couldn't really use it for anything since we destroyed the cannon on it, and it would probably just be good for flying around, which whoever came to it would probably already have a ship of their own

            • If I remember right, Cayde set that if we blow up the DreadNaught, half the Solar System goes with it. So, no. We don't blow it up. It's probably gonna just be a ruin above Saturn. It's also probably gonna be an Easter egg on Titan.

            • Let's just find a way to fix it, completely take it over, and use it to destroy the cabal. Then crash it into a vex world that no one cares about for dramatic affect.

The fact that there is no cutscenes at the end of a raid is extremely disappointing. That is probably one of the laziest aspects of Destiny imo. They flagship part of their game and when you finish it there's not a single cutscene to acknowledge what you did. It reminds me of Skyrim where after you beat the Vanilla story boss, the characters of the world keep the same dialogue about him being alive/having returned. Lazy writing/mechanics. They could have easily made a cutscene where after you beat Oryx the whole ship starts to shake and collapse in on itself as your character sprints to jump off the dreadnought and be teleported into your own ship as it takes off with the dreadnaught blowing up in the distance. Super cliche, but it also would have been satisfying.

              • Oryx is dead, and the internals of the dreadnaught are disabled...somehow I doubt it will be relevant ever again.

              • Thought one of the first missions on the dreadnought had us disable her engines. Unless the hive learn the difference between magic and a tool box, the dreadnought shouldn't be going anywhere. If she does move, the dreadnought will more than likely enter a decaying orbit towards Saturn. Meaning that if the ship doesn't break apart and burn on entry, it'll be forever lost within that big old mass of gas if not bounced back out and lost in space. Saturn and it's moons would prevent that last possibility as a permanent outcome though, the ship would need to use its engines to escape their gravitational pull.
That's using logic though. Bungie has used an unexplained character as a talking plot device in the base game, and the hive exist as a faction of inconsistent threat level and overall relevance that we attack with inconsistent countermeasures that can only be defeated through the intricate details of open-ended information "because magic," which itself feels randomly revealed and added to in-game and left upto interpretation to be tied together in the grimoire with each new hive leader. Makes it feel like the stranger and hive exist only as excuses to extend plot lines rather than exist as characters that add depth and meaning to story and lore. Yes, I think there was a run-on in that. And no, I can't stand them either. Just don't have time to separate the points mentioned at the moment, but they do follow a common idea.
• In one of the trailers it looks like there is dreadnaut like ship, not sure if it is the dreadnaut. It shoots out a dreadnaut like attack that destroys a planet. Just what I thought when I saw it.

                • The scenarios that I see are... 1.) It gets pulled into Saturn's atmosphere, burning up and getting destroyed in the process (Probable). 2.) It is entirely cleared out by the Guardians and taken over or taken apart (most unlikely). 3.) It is destroyed with the appearance of the Red Legion and Gaul (Most likely) 4.) Absolutely nothing.
