Got DDOS attacked in Trials today, Bungie pls. (With Evidence)

I apologize in advance for the long read. TLDR at the bottom. So I was playing Trials with a buddy of mine, like we do almost every weekend. We were attempting to help someone who has never been flawless go to the lighthouse. Everything was fine and dandy until we ran into these three guys. I got kicked out of the game world, the party, everything. The internet in my house was down for at least 10 minutes. Router was ok, modem was ok, and there was no coincidental outage. My stats are relatively high so I thought that's why they chose me. Even so, I thought maybe I think too highly of myself. I was a bit skeptical. Until I looked at their game history. EVERY SINGLE GAME this week and almost every game from as far back as I cared to check, it's the same three dudes showing a victory with at least one member of the opposing team as a "deserter." There is no way in hell that the 20 plus games I checked, the opposing team lost a guy coincidentally. Sometimes they even booted 2 or all three people! I know there are one or two games that show defeat, but even in those there is a deserter. TLDR: These three guys are getting away with booting people out of trials, week after week. Bungie pls banhammer. Or something. Thanks for reading. The three people who are cheating will not be named, but feel free to glance at the matches. Here is a perma-link of my game just to prove that I am listed as a deserter. My gamertag is Dont_Be_Salty_ http://guardian.gg/en/pgcr/6445662520 I love trials but things like this make me not want to play at all.

Looking at your history, I found a match on your Titan on May 26th that you were disconnected from. I inspected the other team. A very large number of their matches were won due to their opponents being disconnected from the match. One of them is playing on a new account, and he played almost exclusively with the other two using the same character. The other two had no history winning matches when they were playing with anyone else. I have no doubt whatsoever that you were the victim of a DOS attack. It was very easy for me to find the match you played against them. I would encourage you to remove the links to the PGCRs and gamer tags. Anyone that cares too can just as easily find the match, and identify your opponents. That said, if you didn't already, report them. If you couldn't report them in game, you can report them using the following form: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Troubleshoot?oid=13967 You do not have to have been in a match against them to report them. Anyone that identifies a person that they believe is cheating can use the form. You will need to link to the PGCR for the match in which the cheating occurred. Although listed as "optional" the form requests a video be attached as well. This field cannot be left blank, but a link to the cheaters match history found on BNET, Destiny tracker, or guardian.gg will also suffice. Only use the form if you are confident a person is cheating. Don't repeatedly spam report with it. If you abuse the use of the form, you're BNET account could be restricted from further use. Edit: There is also video on Guardian theater if you search for one of the players on the other team.

    • Note the time, call your ISP. Report that you were attacked, and they will be able to identify who was connected to you and either take action themself, or give you an IP address and the ISP you can contact to make a direct complaint. Service providers are a little touchy about people using their networks for illegal things like denial of service attacks and ip flooding. Or, if you are thorough enough to have all your router or gateway logging enabled, get the IP info yourself, look it up, and call the service provider for the people who were playing against you at that time and make direct complaints yourself as well as notify them that you will be following up with the police next. This will be a much more immediate action, and result in a lot more than a simple game ban somewhere down the line in a game that already has a limited lifespan once the sequel drops in the fall.

      • Probably should remove the gamer tags. You could get in trouble for the name and shame policy.
