Lots of armchair game developers and armchair network coders on these forums lol. Before any of you open your mouth and say it's not possible, read this link: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.psu.com/amp/33037/destiny-2-frame-rate-60fps-on-dedicated-servers And this link: https://www.google.com/amp/wccftech.com/destiny-2-60fps-dedicated-servers/amp/ You've got legitimate network programmers that do it for a living telling you it's possible. I'd personally take their word over a random on the internet. This game could have been 60 FPS + dedicated Servers. Bungie chose not to go that route.

  • Well Im not worried about 60 fps on console b/c I will be running GTX1080 SLI, LOL. Speaking of SLI, will Destiny 2 support SLI?

  •
Lots of armchair game developers and armchair network coders on the internet lol.
Fixed it, and it is pretty sad honestly because a simple google search can show you these things exist. Not to say I agree with that route, I don't think it would yield much. Not to mention a game relying on things outside of the user end is a no go. It's already always online yeah, but it shouldn't go any further. Having a game that will simply not work without an internet connection sucks as is.

  • Don't all developers and people with IT jobs have armchairs?

I do wonder for instance, if we ignore what bungie said about PS4 pro not being able to run at 60 fps and say that PS4 pro could (or at least close enough using dynamic frame rate control), but non PS4 pro users (PS4 for instance) wouldnt so they will have to run it at 30 fps, so what would happen in crucible when a PS4 pro player running at ~60 fps plays against a PS4 player running 30 fps? The PS4 player would be in an advantage...

  • That is precisely why many developers attempting to make more competitive games will not allow the 'pro' version to run at a higher FPS even if it can. Locking the FPS for all players creates parity between everyone.

  • Its technologically possible. But only if you off load significant parts of the processing necessary to animate the game world off to those servers. What they dont' discus is the FINANCIAL viability of this. We want Bungie to supply us a continual stream of content....but we are unwiliing to pay a monthly sub-fee to finance it AND those severs. We are also unwilling to pay the aggressive micro-transaction fees that are necessary to finance it AND those servers. So the issue is having BOTH important enough to you---and the community---that we are willing TO PAY for them. ...and the answer has been---all along---a very clear "No". So Bungie sunk its resources in to making more content for us.
