For people stating this game isn't a PvP game and is just a PvE game...
1. You're obviously wrong off the top given the game offers both.
2. It WILL be a competitive game. MLG is taking it on and that's why we've gone to 4 man PvP (like many other competitive games). It currently isn't one in it's current iteration, but we're talking about Destiny 2, which will be a competitive game. Add claps in between the words if it makes you feel better.
Deny all you wish, but this is definitely the avenue Bungie/Activision is taking. They ARE turning this game competitive. They ARE going to have an eSport based around it, likely heavily utilizing the new countdown mode. It's not going to be a PvE game. It will be both, and that's why this is an issue.

I wouldn't be surprised by strike leaderboards, but they'd be pretty pointless.

I agree. but with strike scoring, it is the only logical option bungie will have top make strikes worth doing after content is dried up.

Making things 4v4 doesn't make anything competitive. They were simply trying to ease the pressure that'd be on their new primitive p2p system. GB, MLG's online tournament source has already had Destiny. It's dead. With no word on custom games nor LAN capabilities, I don't see MLG having any sort of events for consoles. PC, may have some events, but without dedicated servers it'll truly never have any true comp online.

I didn't say that makes it competitive. It's just the standard in competitive play at this point unless it's a MOBA. Of course Destiny MLG is dead. No one here is talking about that. Talking about Destiny 2, which would also be dead at this point given the game has not yet been released. The information is out there. They are taking D2 to the competitive scene. The change to 4v4 helps facilitate that. Nowhere did I say it makes it competitive though.

Bungie never stated that MLG had anything to do with why the game went to 4's. Also, MLG nor GameBattles have even released an official statement about the game and their intentions.

Because the game has not released. It's coming. i don't mind if you don't believe me now. It won't even be right at launch either, but it'll follow shortly. There's other reasons why they went to 4's as well, but this is one of the larger ones as it'll facilitate competitive play better.

That's incompetence and the inability to have a real debate with someone. I know, I already stated a reason they switched to 4's. You cannot have online comp without dedicated servers. (PC and Console.) Live events can only take place through PC unless LAN abilities are given to consoles. That hurts MLG, since most of the live events consists of well known and established players from GB. Also, what knowledge do you have on competitive Destiny? I'm not talking about your stats, although that'd be a fun topic of you losing credibility.

Thinking stats gives you credibility is great way to lose yours as well, but different topic for a different day. Destiny isn't competitive. That's why nothing I have said pretains to Destiny in any way, shape, or form, aside from the now two times I have said that I am not talking about Destiny. I'm talking solely about the sequel. I did not state a lie as fact. I stated a fact as fact and then later said there are other reasons. That doesn't mean that the original reason doesn't also stand.

You stated [b]a lie[/b]. In no way was it true. MLG is not why matchmaking has fours. MLG has not announced that it is picking up Destiny2. Whether they do or not is irrelevant. The fact is that you lied and you're claiming fact out of it. Your credibility is 0. You've only lied, you haven't shown any knowledge of competitive play, and you've only shown closed minded bias.
