Do i like Destiny's lore? Yes. Do i think removing the grimoire in Destiny 2 is the worst thing ever like everyone else seems to think? No. Removing the grimoire is probably the best thing that could have happened to the game (lore wise). Either it's way better cause it's all in game, or it's way worse cause there is none. If there's none I think people will complain enough that it will eventually be put in the game. If it's already in game then no complaints here. The game doesn't come out until September, and after the reveal we still know next to nothing about it. y'all saying this is the absolute worst need to chill until you find out what they actually made for us.

  • We don't know that it's all in game, actually. All they have confirmed is a better story with more lore in the game itself. But that doesn't mean that they will be putting in all the best lore. A lot of the stuff found in D1s grimoire couldn't really be condensed into a game without losing information. While I absolutely certainly want D2 to have a better, more informative campaign, if there aren't 'lore archives' or some equivalent, we'll likely be deprived of the best stuff Destiny has to offer.

  • That's why I said either it has all the info and it's great, or it doesn't and then we complain. As far as fitting all that info into the game I believe they said there will be scannable object among, other things, that will give backstory to things. That immediately makes me think of diablo 3, which I thought did a very good job with the books. Hopefully it is similar for destiny 2.

  • I agree with that, and personally I would love to see as much of the lore told in the world as possible. I think the fear is that the lore that doesn't lend itself to being told in in-game (written stuff) will be missing. And the earlier we raise the alarm, the better chance Bungie will do something if they need to.
