I checked the player numbers in crucible this weekend after the reveal to see if it made any impact to player numbers. 180k friday, 150k Saturday and 34,615 tracked in the last 24 hours. normally when trials is on theres around 450-550k in the 24 hour tracked list. last week 278,224 accounts played. this weekend 28,525 accounts. essentially the game has shrunk to about 1 tenth of its normal population on a p2p system. no wonder you had awful lag.

Warning : salty satire incoming... It's because the great Gernader Jake lost to another team that got at least one or two kills from a sticky (while said team was battling constant smoke and spikes) then after went into his stream to gloat, where it TOTALLY backfired as he stated, destiny is now a no skill waste of time and nothing matters, it can't possibly upset him because the talent days of destiny are over. There you have it, reason why numbers are down, as I'm sure other streamers have confirmed, it does not matter any longer and ther is no skill needed with the current sticky meta. (Even though few were killed by said stickies, there is no reason to adapt and "git gud" when everyone is using them) ;) :) :D :O

  • numbers since the reveal have dropped faster than if a lead weight was attached to it. Gotta say I was like :O when I saw the numbers. checked two different sites as I figured the first had to be wrong. nope since reveal we have lost 9 tenths of the pvp players lol.

  • So what happened? Did people go, "Oh, Destiny 2 is coming out- might was well wait for that- Destiny one is obsolete." Or was it, "PvP in Destiny 2 is going to suck- I quit."?

  • I kinda figured some would do both. but I honestly didnt see this many dropping off. Could be people have just decided to take a break. maybe a lot more saw the pvp and didnt like the changes that were coming and thought they didnt wanna get d2 so whats the point staying on d1. could be knowing nothing between now and then carries over and they thought d2 looked amazing and d1 just doesnt have that pull right now. could be any number of reasons. I thought the number was wrong for 180k and its kept dropping. I had to check the second site to be sure. I know with the sbmm vs cbmm the numbers dropped from like 450k to about 280k on a trials day. But I have never seen a games population all just quit at once like this. madness.
