Another great example on how much lower player counts will reduce lag...

  • Trials is lower player count than regular matches... And the lag is because one player becomes the host and either has a bad connection ( alarmingy a lot of people have bad connections ) or fiddles with their router to add latency which for whatever reason gives that player the advantage. Lower player count will not change any of this, they may optimize the net code or something else to fix it, but lowering player count will not have any effect on it.

  • They get the advantage because bungie don't lime the idea of kicking people with connection that's bad enough to merit being kicked. Doesn't help that we don't know how the connections actually are. Someone shows as red bar, we are green yet we are the ones who suffer. They may be suffering too but if they are reporting all over the place then that immediately gives them an advantage. Bungie oboe this but know that if they kick anyone on red bar connection, they'll have huge backlash from those in the community who have that connection. The problem is p2p connection. We connect to them just fine, but they can't connect to us well enough or may have insanely high ping and we will never know. My friends and I green bar all the time yet we get kicked from lobbies with mostly red bars...
