My buddy was green barring the whole game. After a round he randomly DCed. Same with someone on the enemy team. Not even 2 rounds later I DC too. My teammate won the 1v2 but still. It was weird. We were all green barring

  • It's because green is the new red and vice versa. My friends and I played the other day against several teams with at least one red bar and the enemy red bar were responding and dying as long as 10 seconds later. We were all green bar but one red bar throws the entire game into disarray and gives the lagging team the advantage. The problem is the p2p connection, we connect to the red bars fine, but because they can't connect to us or the server well enough, they lag but it's not just them feeling it, because p2p is a two way bridge, if one way doesn't work, the other is doomed to fail as well. We need to see the ping of individual players or they need to be dropped from the game if they are lagging bad enough to teleport on a constant basis in any game mode, not just trials. A few second delay is annoying as hell but if bungie kick them all then we won't have anyone to play with. My friends and I get kicked in green connections against red bars. In D2 there need to be harsher restrictions for bad connection. If you are at red bar connection, that means that you do not have good connection or even have an unstable connection, if that's the case then you should have absolutely no advantage over someone who has a strong and stable connection.

  • exactly... ANd yet Bungie sticks to P2P. This game will never be great because it lags too much.

  • Yeah. I hate the lag but lately the thing I hate most is the lack of any ability to even know if I'm lagging when I'm showing I'm green bar or if its the red bars. It's confusing and there's been no offer to explain how this system works. I just don't trust what the game tells me anymore. I played a game just before where someone was green bar the entire game, then near the end they dropped not even to yellow, but straight to red bar. How the freaking hell does that happen? They might as well do away with showing us our connection because it doesn't matter. Report them for lag, nothing happens. The only thing bungie try to focus on is those who cheat in trials and it feels like they don't care about anyone else playing the game. And before you say, I know green bar connections go to red when host migration happens, but they don't even tell us that it's happening... it should pick one host for the 10 minute duration like most other FPS and only shift if the host connection drops too drastically. Or they could just kick anyone whose connection is causing g an unfair advantage in their favor against other players. For example, teleports, extreme melee lunge or just plain ghost bullets or super delayed hit/kill registration. All of these things I can assure you are monitored, it needs to be.

  • Bungie is too busy making their next eververse emote instead of fixing lag. Like just buy dedicated servers! Its not that hard.

  • I think that's mainly on activision. Bungie may be talking to then about it but the problem is that we aren't trusted enough to hear whether they are even trying on our behalf or what they hear back. We are only the people who pay for them to continue making games after all. We need to know more about what we're playing and knowing what's going on with our connection is a necessity, especially in p2p. We need to know how strong our connection is to each individual player at the very least, or as I said before start kicking people with unstable connection. They won't kick people because that would lead to backlash even though that what they get now for not kicking people. Instead they'll not bring in better servers, but they'll take away 6v6 potentially slowing the whole game to snail pace PvP while we have absolutely no say whatsoever because nobody cares enough to maybe ask us what we think of the idea.

  • I liked 6v6... I could play with my raid team. Well rip that now, unless fireteams are permanently 4 people instead of three I may be ok with it. If Fireteams are still 3... Well Bungie is stupid.

  • It's probably 3 still. And yeah did bungie not think about that? Like no feedback was asked for. But that's probably because they knew we'd say no and it's the only thing left that they can do to try to make connection better rather than make an investment that most of not all PvP players have been begging for since year 2 or earlier

  • I can't understand why they would make PvP 4 people... It makes no sense if fireteams are 3

  • I mean, how is having dedicated servers not worth the investment if it'll keep us around longer and keep the player base satisfied with connections. This lead me back the original issue. With p2p connections there's no way to tell if I'm the leggy player or if it's the others that kg game insists are red bar

  • Because it's how they are going to justify not having dedicated servers. Bungie or activision are too cheap to make the investment and they never will because they can always find another way to try to improve connections on p2p which will never work because that means we are pretty much restricted to only those in our own country.

  • I hate greedy companies... Greed is whats killing the gaming industry. Greedy companies hype up a half assed game to make some money. Gaming was so good 7 years ago... What happened?

  • Companies like activision came along. I dont entirely blame bungie, but I do wish that they could try saying more. Activision probably don't let them say much but the least they could do is tell us that they can't say or give us legitimate answers. The problem is that some people like myself love destiny but hate some aspects like small things and connection stuff in PvP and we know that the only way we can avoid disappointment and being annoyed at these things is by not buying the games, but what are the chances of the GA changing anyway. I don't want to stop playing just because it's annoying but I need a reason to continue. I'm torn

  • I agree. I love this game, but too many small issues pushed me away. Like connection and replayability. I remember first seeing Destiny at E3 2013, it looked revolutionary and amazing. Then I remember how much I loved it when I first got it, really the only time I started hating Destiny was once year 2 happened.

  • I never played much PvP, not even iron banner. I was always afraid I would suck. And boy did I when I first played. However year 2 felt not bad at least for a while in PvP and by then I'd made my own raid group so we were doing 3 raids in one night in the vault of glass while I prayed for a god damn gally and fatebringer. Now we don't raid as much cause people are a bit burned out and I don't even play except for weekly reset to help my group and play a couple of crucible matches here and there
