I figured as much that was the Shard of the Traveler seen in the Reveal trailer.
But that brings me to another question....
Why is there a shard of the Traveler that seems to have fallen off? Better yet, why is it there?
From my understanding, there is a possible link between Rasputin and the Traveler but I'm not too sure. Any lore buffs out there that could help me out?

Remember how there was a shard of the traveler we had to save on the moon? Perhaps it's that shard that we get our powers from. The teleportation could have possibly miscalculated from the moon and instead of to the Traveler it landed in the European Dead Zone

The shard seen in the reveal trailer is from the damage we see at the bottom of the Traveller. It happened during the collapse of the Golden Age. What damaged the Traveller isn't really known, there is no real evidence to support Rasputin being the cause of the damage. It's quite likely the damage was from the fight with the Darkness, Rasputin tells us that the Traveller lost because she would not 'make herself alone'. This was possibly the damage that caused the Traveller to create the Ghosts as a last resort. If Rasputin did attack the Traveller, it wasn't because it was fleeing, he did so out of a selfish reason. It would also make him totally responsible for the collapse as he mortally wounded the only protection Humanity had left - Rasputin abandoned Humanity as he saw us as a liability. The reason it fell in the Europen Dead Zone may become clearer when D2 launches.
