So that's what Zavala meant when he says to your Guardian on Titan:
If the Light can find it's way back to you, perhaps there's hope for us all.

• Yeah, that seems to be the reason.

    So that would/could prove Ulan-Tan's theory of interconnected Light correct. Also (slightly unrelated), looking at the flavour text for [armory]Light Beyond Nemesis[/armory], this could suggest that LBN once belonged to Ulan-Tan him(?)self (or one of his close disciples). {These are the wings of pratiya-samutpada, the truth of interconnectedness. The everywhere Light.}

  • That's our theory, that the shard outside of the Cabal's control will act as a conduit to the Traveller. Our Guardian seems to have a stronger connection to the Traveller than most, so out Light probably would return quicker, especially being close to the shard.

  • I agree, especially considering how we tangled with (and subsequently defeated) a Fallen Archon so soon after Ghost resurrection. Not to mention all the other accomplishments where more experienced Guardians have failed (the Vault, Crota, Skolas the Rabid(?), Oryx, and SIVA).
I'm almost hoping that Ghaul isn't a boss in the initial raid, or if he is we don't kill him until at least the first expansion in Winter.
• There's something that Ikora says on the Stormcaller mission
Yours will be a difficult path— jagged, like lightning itself. It is only the few who have the power to call down the storm. I’ve not often seen this talent from one so young. I always knew that you were different from the others, but I never understood my unease. I'm afraid there is little left I can teach you.
This is a warlock who was to all purposes a prodigy herself.
Yeah, I'm hoping that Ghaul isn't going to be someone we deal with in a short timescale. Also, I don't think he is quite what he is implied to be in the game reveal.
•
Yours will be a difficult path— jagged, like lightning itself.
What could this part mean, the "jagged, like lightning itself" in particular? I guess that's something we'll find out towards the end of the franchise if anything.

  • With Bungue it's always difficult to determine whether something has meaning or not, just like the dialogue some NPC's have. There are at least 4 new Speaker lines, that were added with AoT, that now clearly relate to Destiny 2. At the time they seemed unimportant.

Something that Rahool says comes into play here.
Found at the foot of the Great Pyramid, 755 feet to a side, 36,506 inches, less than tenth of a degree from true north..is the location significant? Ha! EVERYTHING'S significant!
• Yes that's true, which is why I wonder why someone (possibly Cayde) wants to know Banshee's real name. It appears to be one of the things Cayde has been searching for.
?> what were we talking about > LAST 50 SEARCHES ACROSS ALL DEVICES, CHRONOLOGICAL: > "banshie real name" "banshie-44 real name" "scout rifle locker default password" "traveler giant eyeball" "giant eyeball planet" "giant eyeball aliens" "giant alien eyeballs" "delete image history" "how do i delete images" "accidentally set giant alien eyeball as terminal background" "how much do new terminals cost" "vanguard discount for new ter~XXX
• I'd imagine that Banshee is one of the first inhabitants of the Last City, and one of the few survivors of the Collapse who could probably remember it, and his history is a point of interest to most Exos. Cayde is just the only one brash enough to try and find out directly, although he's aware that asking Banshee directly will either result in a redirection or the ramblings of an old man.

  • Cayde has pre-collapse memories, he even remember's becoming an Exo. I think it's more than just that. Another part of Cayde's card is the mention of 7066 Nessus returning to our solar system after an unusual delay. Now we know Nessus is a zone in D2. I think the Cabal may have used it to enter our solar system undetected, though it could be the Vex who delayed its return. So there may be significance in Banshee's origin to something that happens in D2.

  • Or even D3...but this is all simply speculation for now. I'm just hoping we can come back to this thread in a year's time and see what was right, wrong, and unproven!
