Here we go. Variks is a sneaky bastard. Since we met him he as been sending us around the solar system to monkey stomp or kill Kells and Barons of Fallen Houses. So, it seems if you kill a Kell you take that Kells place. Obviously, one of our titles is not Kell of anything. Why not? Because, I imagine the rules of fallen power succession work to where if a fallen leader orders and attack or assassination of a Kell the power still transfers. I/E: We have a large battle between 2 Fallen Houses. A kell dies from a blast from a spider tank. The driver and gunner of the spider tank isn't the new Kell; the one who ordered the attack is. Also, this courtesy of power transfer doesn't transfer automatically to enemy races. Otherwise when Saint-14 head butted a Kell to death then blew his head of all of the remaining Fallen would have instantly bent a knee to him. To me this fact makes Mara Sov more badass. So, Variks has been sending us to battle these Fallen leaders under the pretense of the Queens authority. I believe this is slowly transferring respect and power to Variks within the Fallen community, Kind of like the reputation of a great general, and he is slowly becoming the Kell of Kells. We also hand delivered him an Elder Cypher; which is apparently one of the items one needs to proclaim themselves Kell of Kells. For this we get a shiny gem and a pat on the back.
