Seriously, all I ever see on here is people saying how "if there wasn't any PVP/Trials, this game would be dead".
Would that be the case if they actually made quality PVE content that also was built to last a while and provide more entertainment?
Take Borderlands 2 for a good example, it has next to no PVP and yet, people continued to play it for years after its release and the release of its DLC. I know people who play it even to this day and bought the handsome collection just so they could play it all over again.
Not to mention there are many MMO's that have been around for a good while that have very minimal work done towards PVP or none at all that people keep coming back to day after day.
My point is, if there was actually lengthy and quality PVE content all you wouldn't need to rely so heavily on PVP modes to keep your game or its population afloat.
Edit: I really don't know how people got that I hate PVP or that it should be removed as I never once said that. People kinda need to stop having this whole "You're either with me or against me" when it comes to PVP and PVE.
Edit 2: As people have pointed out, yes, there is more PVE content than there is PVP content. But the problem is that a lot of this content is in low quality, provides hardly anything to the story, and can be completed in hours.
I am not saying they need to have way more missions in Destiny 2, if anything I would say less missions that are longer and have more of an impact on the story would be amazing instead of just scattering the focus to the winds.
Imagine if you had a good number of missions that were the length of some of the Halo missions that have multiple checkpoints and massive battles that immerses you in the story and makes you want to play it over and over again, without feeling like a slog.

PvP is a easy way to make your game last long. It makes game developers last and is slowly ruining gaming. I'm am old timer though.
