Junkrat is god tier on defense so miss him with your weak shade. Mei is also pretty good on defense too, not always ideal, but pretty good.

They're situational and only good really on the first points.

My problem with junkrat is that he has no accuracy. Any hero that relies on someone wandering into their spam is useless to me and there are certainly far better picks for any scenario you might use him in. Mei is good in very specific and very scarce scenarios. I don't mind people picking her, I just hate when people "main" her.

Junkrat excels at guarding objectives and choke points on a map. His steel trap immobilizes the first hero leading a charge, allowing for an easy kill. His grenades, if used correctly, can blanket an area with a lethal amount of damage. His detonating mine does a good chunk of damage while throwing enemies off of the defense point or can be utilized with the steel trap. Don't even start on the rip tire and the destruction it brings. I may be coming off as defensive over him, but that is only because I have never played him in competitive mode without getting at least 3 gold metals, and around 25 eliminations minimum on a defense. His draw backs are that his grenades require you to predict where the enemies will be at the time of detonation (or they require a direct hit), and his health pool makes him very squishy. I would not recommend him for attack, as he really only shines at denying access to an area, not claiming an area from defenders.

I agree. Junkrat can hold a chokepoint like its nobody's business. Not to mention he can hide behind the safety of geometry. I do find him more suited for some maps over others but he shouldn't be overlooked.

Lol Mei is devastating played right. Bad Meis give her a bad name, seeing as she's one of the only self destructive characters.

I remember playing a comp match where I had over 6 minutes on the objective...as Genji. People focus too much on kills

You just need to git gud with them
