After numerous missions and gathering intel, Ikora formed a team for him to look for Caras. The Titan's name was Vulcan. The Warlock's, Lyla. And the Hunter's name, Orion. Orion was a scout for Cayde and would be giving him information as well. Vulcan was a new Guardian in the Tower, eager for a fight. And Lyla was known for her Crucible skills. They heard Ikora's voice over the ship's comm: "The outpost you are attacking is one of the many information centers that belongs to the Kings, this holds the logs of the barons who are or have been stationed in South Europe. Good luck Guardians." Anibus overheard Vulcan and Lyla chattering about him, speculating. "You want to know who I really am?" They looked at him, clearly embarrassed about their whispering. However, they nodded with anticipation to hear whether or not the rumors were true. Rumors had grown that he was a descendant of Dredgen Yor. He had gone flawless in his first ever Crucible match. These myths simply amused him, he learned to quit paying attention to them. "I was meant to be a super soldier. I was experimented on and made into the warrior I am today. I went back to my home when the scientists wanted me to attack the Fallen who had invaded after the Collapse. They attacked my home, Caras and his men. I killed all but him, his blades were stained with the blood of my family. I cut his eye and he fled like the coward he is. I went to find my family bleeding out in our small shelter. He took everything from me. And if I don't, I pray that God will aid anyone else who might attempt the same." The two Guardians had unlimited questions but before Anibus could tell them 'no' Orion said, "We're as close as possible to the base. We need to walk the rest of the way." Anibus grabbed his rifle and got out of their ship. They were in northern Canada, approximately three miles from the outpost. They saw something on the ground, near a tree. "This is armor," Orion said with surprise. A King's banner lay beside the crushed plates of metal. Snow covered it. "Probably nothing," He said dismissively. The fire team walked towards their target, and in a short time reached it. Anibus screwed the silencer onto the barrel of his rifle. They hid behind a rock to form a plan. "Alright. Orion will take out their security systems, Lyla will take out the guards and plant bombs on the base's generators. Vulcan is with me. Also, do me a favor hang back a little. I don't want the Fallen to see a Guardians snow angel." Everyone chuckled except Vulcan. He was eager to impress his team. "You'll have a short time before backup power kicks in, you need to be quiet. They'll know something's up." With that, Orion left into the shadows. When the lights were down they hurried to the gate and slipped in just before the backup generators kicked in. Anibus signaled Lyla to go take out the guards. He kept an eye on Vulcan. As the pair of Titans slipped through the base, they came upon a patrol of dregs. Anibus whispered, "They can smell us, take them out." Vulcan nodded and unsheathed his knife. He snuck up behind one, slit it's throat punched one, and stabbed the third. The dreg recovering from the Titan's powerful blow, leveled his shrapnel launcher on the Titan's back. Anibus quickly put three rounds in its back. "You missed one." Anibus said smugly. "That was only because I didn't hit his face." Vulcan said with embarrassment. "Right. Don't make the same mistake if we see another one." The group met at the information center. Orion had taken down the base defenses, Lyla had eliminated the other guards and planted bombs on the base's generators. "I've done my part, can't say the same for you Vulcan." Lyla said smartly. "How would you know?" Vulcan said with irritation. "I saw you with that patrol, you weren't killed because Anibus finished off that dreg. If I had seen them, I wouldn't have someone else clean up after me." "Alright that's enough." Orion said. "Anibus and I will take the other door, when we give the signal, breach and clear. Ok? I better not hear any crap after this." Anibus and Orion went to their door and prepared for the breach. They gave the signal and kicked down the door. The Fallen were completely unprepared and dropped to the floor one by one. Anibus killed the guards with their weapons in hand. Orion eliminated those at the monitors. They saw Vulcan hold his rifle to the head off a vandal on the floor and shot him in the head point-blank. "See? Was that so hard?" Orion said. The Warlock and Titan looked at each other when he turned away. Anibus pulled out his Ghost and directed it to the monitors. In a short time, Ghost spoke up: "I've combed through everything. There's no 'Caras' in the logs. Perhaps this wasn't the right place." "That's highly unlikely, the Kings are pretty unforgiving. And I have looked through them myself, the names match the locations." Orion said. "How can you even read the Fallen's writing?" Vulcan said with surprise. "I would say that since Anibus dealt a crippling blow to the Kings, they're taking it out on Caras. He was probably executed." Orion said ignoring Vulcan. Anibus slammed his fist into one of the consoles and left it useless. They left the base and detonated the generators when they were out of the blast radius. When they arrived back at the Tower, a Hunter hurried toward Orion saying, "Orion! I was scouting the Brazilian Dead Zone, Winter has a new Baron, one that was with the Kings before." The Hunter said with exhaustion. He hadn't rested in several days. "Was there anything unique about the Baron?" Orion asked. "Only thing was he was missing an eye." When Anibus heard this, he knew he might have vengeance.
