A rogue planet approaches the inner most regions of our solar system after spending a millennium basking in the darkness (if you don't know what a rogue planet is, google it really quick). The planet is covered in large glass domes that once housed large cities, home to a new race of beings. The domes, at one time, were heated using the planets core, but now cracked and broken, they no longer protect these cities from the frozen depths of space and are now ice covered wastelands. Before their cities fell, there was a full scale civil war. With a tyrannus king ruling the planet, a large faction was formed to combat his subordinates and overthrow their ruler. As the war raged on, the king and his people were slowly corrupted by the darkness, driving them mad. Once the tables turned in the factions favor, the king, in a last ditch effort, had all the city's protective domes destroyed. Some people were able to escape to the elaborate tunnel system located beneath the planets surface, those that did not, were either killed from the sudden change in pressure, or frozen moments later from the frozen atmosphere. The several thousand that did escape the cities fought amongst themselves underground, until the faction became the victor. The leader of the faction, now known as the Ice Queen, became ruler of her people, or what was left of them. They continued to live underground as the cities were no longer habitable. Underground wasn't completely desolate. There are florescent forests and foliage, rivers, streams, small lakes etc. In some of the larger caverns, cities and villages were built. They lived in peace for centuries. Now, as the planets orbit approaches the inner most regions of our solar system, parts of the frozen planet begin to thaw. Almost all of the King's subordinates had been killed from the desolate cold, and were frozen solid. However, the darkness remained, growing, festering in the shells of these former beings for centuries. Once thawed, the darkness had complete control over who they once were. They now only had one purpose, kill and eradicate any light. A century old war is reignited, and now threatens the existence of those underground, as well as our own. I was going to make this a short post, but sitting at work bored, I just kept making stuff up and adding to it. What do you think? Maybe I'll write a fan fiction or something.
