You know I read this post and was thinking about Kabr; one of my favorite lore characters. I was thinking about how he took the last of his light to make the Aegis. Thinking to myself about how guardians die. Did Kabr die or did he continue to transform into a Vex? Then a thought crossed my mind. What happened to Kbar's ghost? Was it destroyed? Did it leave the vault to seek out another guardian or did it simple cease to exist from time?
That's when I thought about Kbar's words about the last of his light. Did he make the Aegis out of his own ghost? If not his ghost then what did he make it out of?
Anyway, just a thought. The idea of swinging around the relic and it being made of Kbar's ghost and the last of his soul, or life force, just made the idea of the raid seem a little cooler to me.

Kabr, Praedyth & the VoG are my favorite lore topics also! Kabr made the armor from the thinking flesh of the Vex & drank of them too. My thoughts are that after doing this, the Vex mind started to take over & poison Kabr's mind. He knew this was happening, so he used the last of his light & more armor from the Vex he destroyed to make the Aegis. Since the Aegis was created from the Vex & inside the Vault itself (where all timelines come to a point) he forever "infected" the Vex with the Aegis. That's why in the updated Nexis Mind strike, when the Vex try to implement some VoG technology into the Nexus Mind, the Aegis also appears to help the guardians. The Aegis has become just as much a part of the Vex as the Vault is a part of them.

Yeah, we just ran VoG and was thinking the same thing

I believe one of the Grimoire cards talks about how Kabr made it from the shell of a Vex he killed.

Not as cool.

Sounds cooler to me. I kill toms of enemies on the verge death and use their frames and the last of my life force to construct the Aegis.

Unfortunately no. I looked it up if you were curious, according to the Aegis grimoire card the Vex stole his ghost and he made the Aegis from the flesh of a Vex with an infusion of his light.

I was reading that as you answered. His words were "they have taken my ghost". Taken can mean many things; especially to someone who is going mad. But after reading the grimoire card again I remembered what you were saying. The thinking "flesh" of the Vex I found curious. We know the Vex are a liquid race ,so to speak for brevity, who inhabit machines for conveyance. They have no flesh. Things like this are why I enjoy Kabr's story so much. There is a metaphysical aspect to it. I am going read whole story again. Been a while. I know I'll have more questions than answers after.
My mistake was cooler though. Admit it.
