I don't care about a gameplay reveal
[spoiler]For those who will actually read this i'll explain, otherwise there will be a tl:dr at the bottom. [/spoiler]
So we all know about the upcoming gameplay reveal on May 18th; I'm sure we are all very hyped and excited about this upcoming tidbit of the sequel to everyone's favorite scifi shooter. But it's not all good.
I'm gonna step in front of this hype train to hopefully get some people to ask the right questions of bungie; because honestly I feel we need to question this game or else we'll end up with a repeat of year 1. so these are just some things i'd like to suggest to the community to get them thinking.
1. Destiny has never had an issue with gameplay. The gameplay, be it guns, abilities, melee etc, have, for me at least, always been very solid. Perhaps destiny's best attribute. I don't need to be shown something I'm already fairly confident will be of pretty good quality.
2. Will weapons be balanced in pvp and pve independently? or will we have a repeat of the last couple of years?
3. Will characters be fleshed out this time around? or will we be expected to read grimoire cards?
4. Will we have in game lfg? or proper matchmaking systems in order to find groups for a primarily coop game?
5. 30 fps? 60 fps?
6. Content...content....content. Bungivision has said they have a plan to supply us with that steady drip of goodness. But what does that mean? will there actually be a steady stream of content; no not just content [b]quality[/b] content?
7. What kind of grind are we in for exactly?
8. Will microtransactions continue to encroach into the game ? could we be facing a call of duty situation?
9. Should we be expecting a demo or the beta/will the beta be indicative of the final product?
So I know we all can't wait for destiny to come out. and we're all very excited. But please just think about what theyre showing us; think about what you want or don't want. And be sure to question what's going on.
tl:dr we're all really hyped, but we need to ask the important questions. Will destiny 2 be a big improvement? or will it be the next call of duty? with some graphics updgrades, but another rehash of the same old stuff?

Just as with Star Wars battlefronts reveal I'll take it with a grain of salt. Sure I'm hyped and I enjoyed destiny longer than most games but I do not want a repeat from 2014.

Does anyone actually know why Destiny was so different when it came out? There was a disagreement between management and one of the writers that caused pretty much the entire story to be thrown out and redone less than a year before release, and Activision most likely blocked any attempt to push back the release date. Then they had to change a bunch of other aspects of the game to fit with the story. Hopefully things will be different this time, and I'm pretty sure they will be. All I want to see from the gameplay reveal is that the core gunplay and ability system are the same.

I am interested to see the new direction that this next installment will take, Bungie have said that D2 will be a completely different game, so I am curious. However, I am aware that whatever we see in the gameplay reveal will be sugar coated, and act like a sermon for the converted. The beta will be the real test.

Expect exclusive weapons to be hid in gambling boxes, Activision are making a fortune from them in cod so expect the same for Destiny 2.

If we go by size then vanilla Destiny 2 is bigger than all the content of destiny 1. While its not always the case just looking at the size, its still good to see that comparison so far.

7 RepliesI've spent thousands of hours into destiny with deleting characters and restarting over and over but I feel D2 will just be another repeat of original destiny with constant nerfing of all the guns in the game because the pvp community is crap. I wouldn't be surprised if this game turns into crap just like the original game (would be happy if it does) Another thing that is ridiculous is that they are already talking about and announcing the expansions when the freaking game isn't even out yet like WTF?!! Yay more dlc we will have to pay more money for....yay. Bungie and activison are a bunch of greedy assholes who only want money and don't care about the player base. Argue with me all you want you fanboys of destiny but I hope D2 is worse then the original game.

Like I said in a recent thread from Cosmo. I am not hyped for Destiny 2, UNLESS the we get something new and standing out. As of now I don't see much new happening that will get me excited. I will wait for gameplay to be revealed. I just don't expect the unexpected.

If not, then I will not be buying it. I will not put up with 3 more years of Peer to Peer one Console as host. Anyone expecting any real differences between D1 and D2 is likely delusional..
