Why has Bungie transformed into Hitler and turned this game into World War II?

Hear me out and please read the whole thing! All the Trials lovers are hating me right now and I completely understand why. I'm putting YOUR favorite game mode on blast! I'm picking it apart like a whole chicken dinner. Here's why... Pretend you have "me" glasses on okay? I thought this would be a perfect time to introduce myself. A perfect time to introduce myself now that I've been running amuck all over these forums for a couple weeks now. I'm Black_Widow503, shoutout to the northwest ya'll! You can call me Widow for short. I used to love the pve in this game. It was magical in year 1. There was a special place for every type of player back then. Playa, playa! *dab* er *sneeze*. Hardcore gamers and casual gamers. A place for everyone. Sounds nice, right? Sounds harmonious, right? dun duN DUUUUN! "Hi ho Silver... AWAY! Actually, I would like it if Bungie put it back to year 1 with Trials being random matchmaking. The gold bounties being able to give current weapons so it doesn't matter if you win as long as you complete the bounties. Right!? I would like it if they kept the crucible for casuals but added freelance all the time. I would even go so far as to ask they put a freelance mode for Trials with matchmaking for those who have social anxieties. *shrugs* Negotiable. I would like it if they made the Raids and nightfalls challenging again. Where one light level made all the difference in hard mode raids back then. Forever 29's. I know it sucked, but it was good for the game, man. Think of the GAME! Also add optional matchmaking to end game pve. You would have a choice to use it or not use it. Just give people free choice. Freedom! Nightfall modifiers. Back to orbit for you! Nightfalls back to how they were in year 1 for hardcore pve players. Remember the blue fire on our heads? That was badazz man! They took that away from us. They took that away from me. I came back to a game I had once fell in love with to a game I now despised. I stopped playing. *frown* Can I ask everyone something? What happened to my favorite game while I was away? Can YOU tell me please? Trials minions can YOU tell me what happened while I was away? I bought it too just like everyone else. Why was it changed so drastically? Whose idea was it to change Destiny so drastically in the opposite direction? Toward a pvp focus? It was completely balanced between the modes in year 1. No one had it better than the other in year 1 everyone had a place in Destiny to feel special, now we are in year 3 and all that matters in this game is Trials of Osiris that I have completely no interest in? Made pve way too casual friendly when there were plenty of strikes and patrols and story missions for casuals to do. I mean Bungie even added a Queens event once. Pve events were perfect for casuals to play. Why didn't they do more of those? Pvp has Iron Banner events. What's wrong with having a few pve events every now and again so casuals don't get too bored? You have to look at it from where I'm coming from. I left in year 1 after Dark Below and House of Wolves dropped. I bought the dlcs but never played them. I returned in Rise of Iron which was a year and a half later, and you know what I saw? They had taken our pve exclusivity away from the hardcore pve gamers and gave it all to Trials of Osiris! Like wtf?!! They basically made raids and nightfalls easier for casuals where everyone could get the gear so easily if they played it. Then they put special gear in Trials of Osiris and made it impossible for casuals to get it? So what happened next? People are adaptable creatures, and casuals found a way to get the gear anyway! Paid carries and account recoveries. These exploits started running amuck. Why did Bungie change the gold bounties? Why did they change the matchmaking to be about card wins instead of random FUN? I don't want Trials removed I just want there to be a place for everyone to feel special in this game like how it was in year 1. Yes, I know it's too late for Destiny 1 but what about Destiny 2? Think about the GAME maaaan!!!! THINK ABOUT THE GAME!

  • Your heading is hysterical and frankly ridiculous. Hitler? WW II? Get a grip! Perhaps this game reflects life? The haves and the have nots?

    • It started like this... There was the original broken weapons like the autos regime and shortly after the vex mytho. Necessary nerfs were needed for those. But when they got put into the dirt, they also buffed other things. Rise of the thorn and last word. And so on goes the paradox. Bungie never figured out that things were fine the way they were if they simply addressed the main issue and did not try to fix things that were already good. Case and point being the recent throwing knife nerf....Seriously....I didn't think it was possible but they did it. The root problem comes down the the sandbox team. They are terrible and do not know how this game is played. Clearly by their streams they show. I've said it before, I'll test out the Chs festival for free. Don't even need to pay me. I can tell you what's good and what's not lol.

        • IMO I feel trials should be separated from the rest of the game if Bungie is not going to separate PvP "rotation" from PVE.

          • Wow, what a completely inappropriate title. Obvious click bait. Comparing the changes Bungie made to the atrocities of Hitler in WW2 is just ridiculous. Nerfs are nothing new. They happened in year 1, year 2, year 3, and they are going to happen in D2 as well.

              • Hahaha this is a very entertaining post. I've seen you reply to some other stuff on the forums in the past few weeks and it is clear that you are very active on these forums. I think you've responded to a few of my posts on the hotbox feedback thread that Cozmo posted a while back and I'm sticking to my opinion back then: the balance system is flawed. PVP requires a balanced system (skill oriented gameplay) and PVE requires an unbalanced system (farm oriented gameplay). Therefore as long as they share the same balance, nobody will ever be satisfied. You are describing year 1 as a sort of golden age of Destiny, which I would absolutely agree with from a PVE standpoint, but from a PVP standpoint, it was an unbalanced system that was very hand cannon (Thorn, I'm talking about you) dominant. To say one side is more important that the other (I'm definitely not saying that is your view) is very biased as both parts are what make Destiny so unique. These days I am a trials oriented player, but back in year 1 I played a ton of PVE because, as you said, raids and nightfalls were actually challenging. I stopped playing PVE when it became too easy and the repetition became way too monotonous. VOG is still my favorite raid and I have no clue why they have become so easy. That being said, you are absolutely right. Destiny 1 is kind of a lost cause at this point and our best hope is that things are better in Destiny 2. Sadly due to the way that Destiny 1 is ending, the bar isn't set very high for Destiny 2 and it will require a lot of amazing reviews and feedback to convince the multitude of players that have given up on this game to return. RIP Destiny 1 Good stuff Widow!

I play trials and I don't hate ya! lol What happened to Destiny? Bungie happened!!! I honestly don't understand many of their decisions. Hopefully they'll at least separate pve and pvp nerfs in destiny 2. I can't really comment on year one though. I started playing around the time HOW was going to drop. I got into crucible and I became a pvp player. First time I got into a multiplayer shooter. Predominantly played rpgs. I was bad at first so the challenge of getting good was fun. I can't comment much on pve even though I've done all the pve stuff anyways and it was easy because I'm completely biased towards pvp lol. In my opinion, bungie happened. A lot of their decisions baffles both sides. I really hope it's because most of the good employees are hard at work with Destiny 2 while they left the lesser ones in charge of the current Destiny. It's how I rationalize them -blam!-ing up so much lol. Hopefully they'll learn from their mistakes and make Destiny 2 great again.
I agree with the ideas you said. Random mm for trials and better bounties for it would bring more people to it and pve events would definitely get me to play pve more though. Never got to play queens wrath :(
• Some good stuff here ^. LOTS of great yr 1 memories with the kick to orbit Nightfalls. You really felt like you were missing out if you didn't get the Nightfall done. And usually......you did miss out on something. Showing up at the Tower with the hardronic essence or whatever that aura was called.....sometimes folks would ask for help for that fact alone. It was great. These days, it's much more vending machine-like. Skeleton keys for strike specific rewards, 3oc, etc. The folks that are just getting into the game complaining about RNG have no idea what it was like back when. And in a lot of ways, it was better having to do without plus having a more difficult time earning your way up. These days it's more accessible for everyone in most every area - you're exactly correct. Raids. Honestly, I quit going after Crota and Crota Hard. I play for fun. I got tired of folks yelling, kicking people off fireteams, etc., etc. AND quitting. Hated getting my time wasted. Hated having someone I brought along get booted & then having to hear about it from both sides. I've got no time for that bunk. You're right though. These things have been made more casual. I understand. For me, I just stay out because the fun was gone real fast. I don't log on to hear people bitch in my ear and throw fits. Same with Trials. I hit the 5-0 wall more than once and I've got a full set of gear I never use. I didn't want to believe what I read about the Trials problems. Figured it was a bunch of blown out of proportion nonsense like most other things here. I was wrong. Fact is, the mathematical probability of encountering cheats and carries goes way up after 5-0 and again....the fun is gone. For me anyway. It's just not worth the aggravation. When I get outplayed, cool. No worries. But I've got no desire to wade through the other B.S. Anyone that does - - hats off. I'm not sure what the solutions might be. I've been content with the play lists I do enjoy, more or less. Became a big crucible fan and have decided to ride it out....for better or for worse.
