So the meta has finally started to settle in. At first I was very optimistic because we will see more primary weapons being utilized.
Most 3v3 playlists have gone back to the old hardscoping style of play. Almost everyone I see is rocking NLB. Very difficult to challenge them too since special only spawns every 60 seconds. Flinch is also an issue.
Trials is ten times worse. It seems that no one wants to use primary weapons. All I get killed by is NLB or sticky grenades. This sucks because if you play passive, you get sniped. If you play aggressive, you get stuck.
I can already anticipate that once NLB gets nerfed, the game will turn into a grenade fest. People will do anything they can to not use a primary.
Ive got thousands of hours under my belt in Destiny pvp and I honestly am starting to call it quits. Not because content is dry, but because the crucible has evolved into something I just thoroughly cannot enjoy. Constantly dying from stupidities is what destroyed the fun of this game.
This isn't a rant post, it is my opinion of what the crucible feels like to me. If you enjoy it, by all means continue playing it. But I know that there are hundreds of others who feel the same as me.

Edited by THE SARGE 01: 3/1/2017 3:59:08 PMPlay aggressively and you will see a difference. Don't let he NLB users set into their lanes. Stick together so you can double and triple tap lone snipers. If they have the dominant firing position, find an alternate route. Also, don't get all butthurt when they outplay you.

Agreed NLB and stickies are bad for the game. Stickies up close and personal are impossible. Best u can do is trade. It's like the clutch supers before u kill someone, they pop their supers and then kill u. Well now it has been replaced by stickies.

yup...

Trials of Wormwood sucked this weekend
-
Awful pvp that fails on every level.
-
Been doodoo for a while. They just added doodoo flavored whip cream on top with a doodoo dingleberry cherry.
-
Why not troll then? If the other team camps spawn, equip shottys and camp the control point. You can have Skorri too btw. Just equip grenades like tripmines, lightening, solar flares, wombos, axion bolts, etc and keep them out of sniper lanes for 20 seconds. Every time they try to use a super, use one on your team to counter it. I haven't played trials this week but that's what I would try.
-
It's a camp fest now. Snipers hiding in their spawns. At least shotgunfest before this last patch had some fun to it. I constantly beat shotgunners with auto rifles. But now it's just people camping to hold on to special ammo.
-
What people haven't seemed to realize is that when the meta is a shotgun fest it is at its most fun. When the meta is a sniper fest it's boring.
-
Boy you better finish yo quest
-
It's pretty much been shit from when they didn't have dedicated servers, so from the beginning.
-
*still doo doo.
-
Connections, at least for me, have been terrible after the patch. It repeatedly puts me with people in foreign countries resulting in 3-4 red bars a match leading to a giant cluster f#ck of shots not connecting and getting shot though walls. Not fun 👎👎

It feels like that....because that's what its become. Bungie is so determined to slow the game down, that they are failing to recognize how badly out of balance its component parts are. I was in a match on Theives Den with a guy who went 20-6, doing NOTHING but baiting people around corners...tagging them with fusion grenades....and running away. Because of the lack of ammo and the absence of shotguns...its become a VERY EFFECTIVE (if chicken shit) strategy. What would have once resulted in a shit ton of kill trades, now is very difficult to counter. I agree with you....in Bungie's determination to force people to play a slower game with underpowered primaries...this game has become something I can no longer enjoy playing. So I'm not.
-
I've gotten more kills since the new changes. I'm not saying I like the new changes, I miss having a useful secondary with ammo on me all the time. But I've been doing some serious damage (for me anyways) with lots of different primaries.
-
Don't forget about all those sidearms now? Haha Swear I was in a lobby and every special was sidearm....
-
Trials of triple S Sidearms, skorris and stickies
-
Something needs to be done to balance sidearm ammo economy and abilities need a a larger cooldown(like 60 seconds for grenade/melee) Then things will be fine.
-
Yeah I just ran into a group that got 2 sidearm kills the whole match, every other kill was a sticky. One of them is even in a reddit clan designed to give tips, I guess the new meta is to primary stickies and sidearms and run like a bitch when in a gunfight at primary range.
-
The whole spawn camp thing is out of control too.
-
I disagree. It's more like poopoo.

Edited by Blackhawk7188: 2/27/2017 4:17:40 PMAm I the only person who actually uses a bad juju and beats those guys with sidearms and hand cannons? It's not that difficult. Been using it since year 1 and it still kicks ass even with the pulse rifle nerfs over the years. Yes I agree the new setup is dumb since it's almost useless to use a sniper and NLB is just an OP scout rifle IMO.
-
There honestly has to be a problem if people refuse to use their primary and find a way to abuse your special.
-
Just switched over from ps3 to ps4 this weekend. Besides the difference in graphics, new maps and old ones with slight variances the one thing that I noticed more so then anything else. I wasn't killed by a single shotgun and it was refreshing. I even saw someone using malice, which I've never seen before.

Edited by panzerfaust: 2/27/2017 4:30:54 PMI few things that got me fed up on this game, no Destiny 2 for me: 1) PvE has no story-telling and is confusing for any newcomer story wise; 2) PvE has some of the dumbest A.I. I've seen better in ZX Spectrum/Commodore AMIGA titles from the 80's; 3) PvE has a very short span of life; 4) PvP required adjustments take way too much time to be deployed; 5) Lack of self infra-structure and P2P bullshit exposing people to DDoS, network manipulations, etc; 6) Awful patch deployment with huge downloads (goddam it, nowadays even a linux kernel can be binary patched during runtime, here we keep downloading everything...); 7) Game developer places too much emphasis on cry babies who want everything nerfed; 8) Game developer seems to be lost without knowing what to do next to avoid people from dropping the game and get numbers for their quarterly reports; 9) Toxic community (I wonder who's job it is to prevent this toxic environment? community leader? Probably has not enough time while compiling cry babies and prima donna's bullshit); 10) Lack of in-game activity browser and usage of dumb resources like social media and forums for group finding; 11) Way too much RNG placing emphasis on farming and not on player improvement (really how many of us have a perfect/god roll on each weapon archtype? how many have tier 12 full set of armor?) 12) No ranked ladder options on PvP; 13) No 2x2 game modes (with ranked ladder would be awesome); 14) No option to lock matchmaking into same region (I dont want to play with people 300ms away from me, God, NO!); 15) Red bars should've been gone; 16) Too much inertia towards red bars, network manipulation (I suppose, statistics manipulation for nice quarterly reports, the dependency of cute graphs is no secret). 17) Lousy and clunky object collision (corners of walls, blade, CQC); 18) Too much aim assist on the game (without aim assist probably weapons wouldn't need as much nerfs as have been done so far); There's also some good things: a) forums allow lots of profanity and not much censoring, this is a big plus; b) good game technically (though I don't like the emphasis on acrobatics, but it's probably a good thing); c) good combat system; d) well designed PvE dungeons (aside from the free sprinting to last boss); Best thing it could happen to Destiny? This is an easy one... Activision taking over Bungie and giving the franchise to Blizzard and integrate it with Battle.NET infra-structure. Replace current security team by the -godwinslaw!- cheater hunters from Blizzards and get some Judge Dred action on infractors.

It sucks for sure man, but for the primary fights that don't involve no land, aren't they actually enjoyable now?
