Just got SOTN

Never played a Castlevania game in my life, but I saw a couple of the ports for sale on 360 a little while ago and I've been playing it constantly. I just decided to get the one I heard the most about, so Symphony of the Night was it, and boy this game is awesome. Tough as hell too, I'm already stuck at the boss battle where you have to fight yourself. Edit: HAHA!! I just beat him! Take that, self!! Any tips? Nostalgic recollections?

  • Such and awesome game. There's so many secrets and glitches that can get your into areas early onto the game. Here a pro tip. Jumping and I believe pressing down and jump performs a dive kick. This dive kick can be performed on enemis and candles to elevate your jump very high. In the begining of the game, ***Semi spoiler maybe*** there's an area where a ton of bats fly at you, and directly above you, is a small opening. I think you can time the dive kicks to elevate your jump up there, and if you have alucards altered forms, you spam them back and forth and it makes him float up. Can be used all over the place when you don't have the correct form to get to the higher areas early on, or that special ability
