Bungie's decision was to release micro transactions after TTK so they could get money that they would have otherwise gained from Dlcs. So I'm guessing they dressed ROI up to make it look like a good DLC but most of ROI has been about a lot of cosmetics for sale. Ornaments galore and sparrows and treasure boxes. Just to what? Bide their time so they could finish D2?

Blame Activi$ion. Every game published by them has micro transactions.
-
Why do you bitch, theyre cosmetics
-
I'd say we got our money's worth for 30 bucks. Festival of the lost could have been better but the dawning was amazing and it was free
-
To please all the Activision investors. That junk was obviously Activisions idea since it's basically the same model in CoD. It's not used to make D2 any better. The money will go more into marketing and hyping up Destiny 2 rather than making it better. It's probably going to be the same old Destiny with enough changes to get them a C+ grade. That's all Bungie has been striving for since the release of Destiny. We've improved an aspect or two of the game!! Praise us!!
-
Most likely to buy assets and pay to make future DLC for Destiny 2. They are already on the first DLC for Destiny 2.
-
They must have made a good amount of money because ROI sold more copies than vanilla Destiny then ROI had a lot of micro transactions to top it off. Why would they stop now right?

Edited by dnrobs: 2/26/2017 3:16:39 AMNot everything on the internet is true. Btw how can roi sell more copies of destiny vanilla when you need destiny vanilla to play rise of iron.
-
Destiny vanilla didn't exist anymore when ROI dropped a different Destiny existed year 1 was here and then disappeared and became year 2 and year 2 and year 2 disappeared and became year 3 ROI.
-
If the money makes better content and more of it I'm not complaining.
-
The micro transactions have been rolling in for over a year now. It hasn't made anything better. I really doubt it's going to make "Destiny 2" any better than what it would be without the extra cash flow either.
-
Maybe it pays for the employees during the breaks between DLC I don't know but if it helps create content then I don't mind losing 20 dollars on something I like every so often.
-
The point I'm trying to make though is that it doesn't bring us content to justify it, if much of any content at all. Their logic so far behind it is "we brought you this (free 'content' event) that contains micro transactions to allow us to bring in millions of dollars so that we can bring you more 'content' that offers more opportunities for us to make millions of dollars." On top of it, most of the micro transactions have been based around RNG/slot machine tactics and playing off the players' completion mentality. Purely cosmetic or not it's been sort of scummy in my eyes.
-
I'm 22 and hold a Good job so 10 dollars here and there is just one less day I eat out a week to me.
-
Again, that's not the point. We as consumers have to hold producers of content and goods to higher standards. At some point they will see that they can make money hand over fist with little effort. In the end it hurts us.
-
Your values and my values differ and thats why their methods work. Because I'm ok with it and you aren't and honestly other than the DLC it doesn't have to be bought.
-
Very true and you're right, I can't really debate with you on this sort of topic if it's something that you're happy with. In the end I just feel that Bungie could have been doing more on the content side. Either way, as of now I'm still looking forward to see what destiny 2 brings.
-
Odds are that eververse will be in Destiny 2 and none of the content will transfer but I would like it if they gave 1000 silver to every player who buys a DLC per each DLC in the Next Game.
-
Agreed on the RNG end but I only pay to get the content I want and if I get more along the way then Hurray more stuff!
-
I agree wholeheartedly!
-
But it's not making anything better
-
"Bungie's decision was to release micro transactions after TTK so they could get money that they would have otherwise gained from DLCs" Or so they say....
-
Only good cosmesfics that came out of it was the dawning armour
-
That really isn't saying much they were dogshit
-
Depends on your tastes I liked the look of the dawning armour on the hunter and warlock haven't seen the titans version yet
-
Nah....
