I actually enjoyed the story even though how corny how it is with my little brother and we played on realistic too man oh man were some of the boss fights hard, especially Appollyon! -blam!- that hoe! Would like to see more gods or what not! Evem from different cultures vikings/sam/knights!

The why was given by the devs pre launch, even though they took big liberties they did want to stick to a hypothetical real world setting. As for why not, that's exactly what the devs said if the game sold well and enough players showed intrest in adding fantasy elements.

I would so be up for it had a blast playing with my bro in campaign! So far the game seems to be doing good in gamers eyes except for those who were inclined to a better pvp exp or doesn't like playing multiplayer and have their P2P as shit.
