The problem is not that all people are running around with Sidearms. The problem is that after over two years of rebalancing this game, we finally have reached a state where Sidearms are the best gun it he game. This is the sole reason why people run them. The game is so broken now, that sidearms outgun everything. Oh, and the joke Sniper NLB is now the best one. Or to put it differently, which two weapons have never been touched by any rebalancing... anybody else saying Last Man Standing? Update: Some people argue it's because of ammo. This only explains why people use Sidearms and not some other special. My point is: why use sidearms if primaries (Handcannons, Pulses) are better? Because in the 20m range no Primary outguns a Sidearm. Update 2: This is not a nerf posting. I just want to show that if you cut everything down, dwarfs become suddenly giants.
