Why the hell are the Vikings even in a game called For Honor? Their entire lifestyle was about stealing, killing, and intimidating others whilst having little bite to their bark.

Not in this lore, they're supposed to be peaceful, or atleast before this all went down

Edited by MildSquirrel: 2/20/2017 12:25:03 AMKnights were rich asses and samurai were assassins shanking buddies while they slept
-
Vikings had a bit of honour, at least to themselves. They worshipped Thor and other nordic gods and believed that a warriors death would grant them access to Valhalla. Plus they were one of the first societies to allow for womens rights

-
Yeah, because Knights enslaving a bunch of peasants is so noble.
-
Slavery wasn't considered wrong back then so you can't include it. Knights swore an oath to the landlord to defend the land and it's people and wouldn't break said oath until death. If they did break their vows, then they were usually shunned for their dishonorable actions.
-
Knights and nobles didn't consider slavery wrong, so we can't include it, but vikings didn't consider raiding and pillaging wrong either.
-
Are you saying slavery is fine if the nobility are okay with it?
-
Knights were usually people of high society and they lived a fairly nice life.. so peasants would never be able to be a knight. And in wars, knights would usually send the peasant warrior foot soldiers in first and then attack afterwards with their horse
-
You forgot -blam!- and pillaging.
-
Vikings actually had a lot of stigma against -blam!-, it wasn't typically allowed. Women also had more rights and equality in viking society than any other old world culture
-
There all Assholes vikings at least will be upfront about it.
-
Dude, you should've seen some of the shit samurai did in the 16th century. Honor was a joke
-
Besides that, the Samurai still used Bushido for most of their existence. They wouldn't gut and decapitate themselves in seppuku if they didn't live by that rule.
-
They had their own sense of honor, just like the rest.
