What everybody seems to miss...
The problem is not that all people are running around with Sidearms.
The problem is that after over two years of rebalancing this game, we finally have reached a state where Sidearms are the best gun it he game.
This is the sole reason why people run them.
The game is so broken now, that sidearms outgun everything.
Oh, and the joke Sniper NLB is now the best one.
Or to put it differently, which two weapons have never been touched by any rebalancing... anybody else saying Last Man Standing?
Update:
Some people argue it's because of ammo. This only explains why people use Sidearms and not some other special.
My point is: why use sidearms if primaries (Handcannons, Pulses) are better? Because in the 20m range no Primary outguns a Sidearm.

This is not a nerf posting. I just want to show that if you cut everything down, dwarfs become suddenly giants.

Ppl never realized sidearms where good because shotguns with the range were crazy Now that shottys loose ammo and u cant ape any more ppl just use sidearms and realize they have bin op al this time Im pretty sure 50% of ppl will stay on sidearm even if they reverse the special ammo

Its a sniper/sidearm meta. All they did was remove shotguns. Trials is still 40% sniping and nlb is only 13% of that.

Been using Sidearms since they were released. Dreggs is my go to. Now all will be nerfed. Ugh.

Good point. The "worst gun" in the game when it released is now on top in trials. The "worst special" since HoW is now #1, over 50%

1 ReplyWhat all these people bandwagoning over to sidearms and ammo regen weapons fail to realize is that they're just fueling the next round of nerfs. I can't wait to read all the whine on the forums about why Bungie's nerfing sidearm ammo and why they extended the time for ammo regen on Invective/IB(again). Special ammo perks on weapons should be pulled or disabled on sidearms/invective/IB. No special when you start and we should get one box randomly for the entire match that gives you two full mags, without a little light telling you where it will spawn. You either find the ammo or you learn to use a primary as an actual primary. You die, you lose one round of special ammo each time.

The game has always been extremely unbalanced from fresh out of the box. It's just a jumbled mess by now. Everytime a patch hits a new set of guns reign supreme. There will never be a point where everything works together. If they have left it how it was from the very beginning people by now would have accepted it as this is how the game is instead of constant bitching.
