Use your brains, guys. (Bladedancer "nerf")

About this whole bladedancer nerf and everyone crying about it makes me realize how this community has little critical thinking skills. Lets think about this. What kills a bladedancer most while trying to kill a guardian? A shotgun critical blast to your head/melee and a lot of the times it doesnt work. So. Now that shotguns will barely have ammo and they can't critical.. What stops a bladedancer from swiping a whole team in close proximity(They are very hard to team shoot) blinking and or double jumping and on top of that regent health every kill.(Unlike the cool down on the similar sunbreaker perk) Point is with all the changes to the crucible sandbox Bungie saw a potential problem and everyone should actually start looking at this for what it is: an indirect bladedancer buff because now it will be significantly harder to shut you down(same with stormcaller and sunbreaker)

  • I've killed many glorious bladedancers in battle with a simple fusion rifle storm fist combo, that's if I land all the bolts of the burst but usually I do most of the time.

      • 1.) blade didn't need a nerf period. This is fact not opinion 2.) it troubles me you think shot gun is the thing that shuts blade down the most. More to half the time bladedancer is shut down without even a trade is by shut down supers since the majority of supers can easily destroy blade. 3.) blink didn't need a nerf. A lot of players use bones with better control jump because blink is unreliable and bones pairs better with shot guns. 4.) am I happy about the regen being nerfed? Hell no. Is that an acceptable compromise for the lack of deadly shot guns being aimed at you? Yah sure. Should you nerf the radar on blink? No that's stupid. It's already stupid that sometimes when you're trying to swipe an enemy sometimes you come up short and end up getting killed. 5.) lastly the only thing that troubles me is that bungie takes it a step top far everytime. This same thing happen with sunbreaker after it was first nerfed.

          • A shotgun-melee would result in a trade most the time. The key was to get grenade damage first and then shotgun. You kill them without the trade. I don't think shotguns were nerfed enough to change that. I guess we will see next week.

            • Okay then where is the sunbreaker and stormcaller nerf? As they are both harder to shut down and have more range with their atratcks. Besides blade is the easiest super to out super and teamshot. (Besides gg on team shot)

              • Well, we don't know anything yet. But the "nerf" to shotties was concerning mostly range and aerial attacks. Precision too, but a shotty up close doesn't need that anyway. A Tradedancer's swipe means he gets close to you. And I cannot count how many times a shotgun+melee has killed me. That's all it takes. Shotgun melee at close range. All shotties can do this. "But they won't be using shotguns anymore! And special is hard to come by now!" People are already acting like special weapons have just become a non issue. I don't think they will be. The crates come up way more frequently, so much that you nearly always have an opportunity to go for one. Special weapons won't disappear off the face of the earth. It's just that you'll see primaries a lil more often. And, uh, [i]Tradedancer[/i] did not get it's name just for trading with a matador. It's had this name forever. Because [b]most weapons and attacks can kill it[/b]. Hungering Blade was specifically supportive to the thing that a Bladedancer lacks... health. It's a roaming super, and one that isn't good and defending against ranged attacks because it needs to get so close. With Hungering Blade, you could at least zip into a room with 3 enemies and have a shot at surviving provided you got the kills. A Tradedancer is easily team shot, or brought to near death from distance. The only thing that kept him in it was regaining full health upon kill. We'll have to see how it will play out, as kills still give you back chunks of health and shield, but this was [i]already[/i] the most easily killed super in the game, next to maybe a Nightstalker. It's questionable to only target a Dancer when Cauterize makes a titan do basically the same thing, and Vampire builds do the same shit [i]from melee[/i] for Voidlocks. One guy's experience shouldn't be projected onto the community. I support a lot of what they did, but not this. I'll just have to play to see how it really works out though.

              • I can get melee'd out of it, it's sad. I swipe twice only for the hits to not connect, then I get melee'd to death by storm fist or warlock melee.

              • The last 3 attempts at blade dancer I was punched out of it by a warlock. Never tried again

                  • No it's not. A combination of shotgun and melee is what kills blades. So what they are doing is taking it down to where you can kill one person and then pretty much giving you a death sentence on the next or making you waste half your super before you regen health.

                  • You have a point. But I just hated how the developer in the stream literally said: "I'm not gonna lie, this was not a "we" problem, it was an "I" problem, I was frustrated with how I couldn't shut down a bladedancer, then he was able to just kill my teammate and get all his all his health back". Now, if he had given your explanation, I would have been way more understanding of the change.

                    • It's just as equally possible that everyone you jump into will have a shotgun. since everyone starts with special and special ammo comes back every minute. How about you do some critical thinking of your own?

                        I'd say SOL needed a regeneration nerf more than blade. Almost dead? Throw a hammer and back to full with over shield. Don't have to worry about shotguns because nobody gets close enough

                      • Honestly if you're experienced with blade you can get the same if not better results without instant complete regeneration. "A good player can learn. A strong player can adapt."

                        • Bladedancer will still be good to use in pvp. I have never even used the Hungering blade perk, ive always used Encore instead and it works just fine. Bungie has not killed bladedancing at all. For me its gonna be the same as before

                              • How to shotgun a bladedancer. First take your sniper out. Two wait for them to get close. Shot your sniper as if you were using matador and get a body shot( if u lucky u kill them) if not melee idmediately after shooting. Four dance in their face.
