Use your brains, guys. (Bladedancer "nerf")

About this whole bladedancer nerf and everyone crying about it makes me realize how this community has little critical thinking skills. Lets think about this. What kills a bladedancer most while trying to kill a guardian? A shotgun critical blast to your head/melee and a lot of the times it doesnt work. So. Now that shotguns will barely have ammo and they can't critical.. What stops a bladedancer from swiping a whole team in close proximity(They are very hard to team shoot) blinking and or double jumping and on top of that regent health every kill.(Unlike the cool down on the similar sunbreaker perk) Point is with all the changes to the crucible sandbox Bungie saw a potential problem and everyone should actually start looking at this for what it is: an indirect bladedancer buff because now it will be significantly harder to shut you down(same with stormcaller and sunbreaker)

  • Personally I really dislike blade dancer because sometimes it is really hard to shut down. BUT, what I'm thinking about now is, that nerf to health regen and could also affect sunbreaker and voidwalker, or even the entire Regen perks all together. The nerf to blade dancer was rational, but not quite justifiable. It's hard to kill, but it's also closer ranged than most supers, which makes sense for it to be good in close range. But taking away that part from blade dancer could quite easily make it as bad as nerfed sunbreaker was. I just can't imagine what went through their heads to nerf that, rather than nerf the things people wanted nerfed on blade dancer, like they did for every other class. Nerfed skips instead. Also the blink nerf is stupid, once again being unjustified.

  • Dude what about cauterize? ANYTHING YOU GET A KILL WITH WILL REGEN HEALTH IMMEDIATELY. How is that fair in the world of roaming supers? Besides that you don't even need to be near someone to get a kill with hammer of sol. Spent a clip and a half shooting a sunbreaker in its super and they chuck a hammer accross the map to kill your random teammate and bam has all health back. Then kills you too. Also hammers lasts longer does more damage can Regen health immediately, can one shot any super including armor of light bubble titan if using suncharge. Plus has splash damage and tracking for hammers. I don't want a nerf to hammers but don't nerf bladedancer, it doesn't need it, it doesn't deserve it.

  • So it just came to me... Sunbreakers do have a cooldown on caterize right? 3 seconds... Hammers take forever to throw in my experience 2 blade melees to 1 hammer? Isn't it about 3 seconds?

      This seems more like a buff to me, instead of having to Regen health Which takes time, plus taking more damage stops it, this is just giving you health immediately.

        • Any nerf to this game is asinine. Because all the ones crying nerf are going to cry whenever that gets changed. It will never end. Somewhere in the back of thier head they whole heartedly believe that the change will somehow make them more efficient as a player. I've been saying since vanilla you can't nerf the player. For example everyone was so sure that thorns nerf would somehow give them a better chance at winning. Lol not when good players take pride in precision kills. The only nerf to thorn that I have personally ever noticed to any degree was the recent nerf to thorns range. All that did was mess with its accuracy. Still do well with it and still get hate mail for it.

Even now, not all supers can be countered properly. They merely picked the weakest to please crybabies or extreme bias reflected on bungies internal teams

            • Genuine idiot here. You make this argument against Blade and yet they made no comment about touching the health regen capabilities of Sunbreakers. Blades can't one-shot anything with an overshield (Sunbreakers can), Blade doesn't regen from grenade kills (Sunbreakers do), Blade has no reliable distance kill ability with its super only short range (Sunbreakers have hammers), you have to pop blade in close proximity because everyone runs as soon as they hear a super pop, this has resulted in more trades and death because of its lack of range super (Sunbreakers have the most straight line speed in the game, using the actual super of Blade to move faster drastically uses it up where as Sunbreaker lasts significantly longer because of the speed boost from jumping. There is no argument here, nerfing Blade is due to ignorance, plain and simple. Dude even demonstrated he had no idea what he was doing by his own crucible knowledge. RIP Destiny.

                This reverse powercreep (power drain?) is what led the game to be like this. Nerfing the crap outta primaries led to special weapons dominating. Nerfing snipers to the ground led No Land Beyond from being one of the worst exotics to one of the best. Etc, etc, etc. IT HAS TO STOP!!!

                • It's a bad nerf, it's an unneeded nerf, period. Potential problems? Get real. Lets not pretend they actually play test anything, the players do that. This was one dude in a cheeky, online friendly environment, nowhere near a pub, that happened to notice something after his player character bit the dust. Your assessment is not critical thinking, it's speculation. You have nothing to support whether it will be easier to shut down, or harder. The logical guess is easier based on the sound reasoning that this particular individual was more than likely using a nerfed shotgun at the time. And heaven forbid we actually let supers be super. Someone might die in a video game or something.

                    It does have sound logic, but it falls on these deaf ears. Think of it this way: When Bungie tones down one thing they realize they have to tone down something else, AKA "nerf", in order to balance. They've been at this for far too long and thus has turned a large portion of the community against them because they're slowing the gameplay down to a snail's pace and herding their players to create their own balance with each new "meta balance". If they really wanted balance they'd try to actually buff their way to glory. If they did that then we'd see some real diversity and action in BOTH PvP and PvE. Sure you can't totally go the opposite and keep buffing up up up or else it'd be just as boring as the twitch shooter CoD, but with the current state of PvP and PvE this game is already so slow that Torgue's Grandma could gum someone to death faster than a Guardian could kill with an assault rifle. They really shouldn't have to keep nerfing, quite frankly I'm surprised Bungie has kept at this method for so long when so many hate this method of balance. It doesn't solve anything other than to peeve people off and pad out gametime. EDIT: Just wait for people to complain about Defender Titans, Voidlocks, Bow Hunters, Assault Rifles again, two burst pulse rifles, NLB, sidearms, Uni Remote, Invective... what'll you think Bungie will do? Downgrade them to FORCE balance not encourage it. Doubt they'll need to use their brains for that.

                        • I save my fist of havoc for any blade dancer or stormcaller. I'll go whole games with out using it if I never run into one. So if a blade dancer runs into me they still die.
