Of all 9 descriptions of them in that card I've always thought this was the least likely, though TBH I'm really only basing that on the fact that they seem to make Petra uneasy. In the one mission she wonders why the Queen would be giving Skolas to... <pause> "them", like they are at least somewhat otherworldy or have powers that worry her.
As powerful as a bunch of warminds might be, they should at least be conceptually familiar to humans (or former humans, as the case may be) and not provoke that kind of dread, at least not in someone like Petra.

Fair point. Now I'm kinda lead more towards the Leviathan or first-born awoken positions.

Also Xur would make no sense, how would a bunch of warminds be able to basically create a physical manifestation of their will that can travel anywhere? Gotta have some space magic for that kindof thing. It could also be that each of the nine is different and matches one of the descriptions, of course, but even though there are conveniently 9 descriptions I'm not a fan of that either. Too many unanswered questions and they seem to always be described as a singular group.

Anything is possible at this point. We know little to nothing about the nine. But the one thing we know for sure is that they're powerful. The likes of which we've never seen.
