THORN BUFF WE WORKED HARD FOR IT
Listen, i know im not the first to suggest improvements on this gun, im sure i wont be the last. but consider the fact that those who got the thorn had to grind for the bounties! consider the fact that we also had to go through a quest for it. i spent weeks, months even, just to get this damn quest and for what? a weapon that i used to love? i had another account and i was great with this weapon, now its useless because of the nerf. might as well be legendary at this point! people that complain that it is too strong can kiss my sass because i had to work my butt off for it. now i expect you guys to pay me back with an awesome gun for the hours i've spent! consider it bungie!

1 Replythorn meta was the worst thing that has ever been in destiny the gun is the biggest crutch that has been in any game let me 3 tap u then run away and just wait for you 2 die yea takes a lot of skill lol. All u scrubs that keep asking for anything on this gun need to just let it die it was and will allways be the cancer of destiny, it was even worse then the this new HC mapador meta that has just killed any fun in this game.But it really doesn't matter to me cause destiny is dead and has been dead since 2 weeks after ROI. I will come back and do vault of glass when they reskin the old raids and bring them forward for us because destiny 2 will be delayed and they need to keep all you sheep interested without ever giving you any new content.

They could perhaps increase the range a bit, but that is it. No need to bring the crucible back to the disaster that was year 1. Exotics should be unique, but not OP. Just because a weapon is exotic doesn't mean it should greatly out perform all other weapons from the same category. Exotics are exotic because they have a unique perk that no other gun/armor should have.

Easiest quest. Honestly, year was way harder especially using a hunter. Y2 quest was done from start to finish in under 2 hours I think. That's playing casual too.

I think a range increase or a burn damage increase would set Thorn in a good spot.

2 RepliesI agree, but who cares if this quest wasn't nearly as lengthy as the year 1 quest for the thorn. They made it too weak out of requests, and now it's pretty much an irrelevant gun, which isn't okay because it's not worth the exotic slot it takes up. They don't have to make it overpowered again, just make it decent enough. Gjallahorn isn't as op as it was year 1, but it's still good and popular. Make the same with the thorn.

No penalty for dying in Crucible and the final strike mission is laughably easy compared to the level issues in year 1. 2) Thorn is not too strong. It is also not too weak. It is just as good as any other high rate-of-fire hand cannon. It has all the benefits of a high rate-of-fire hand cannon with an added unique perk that causes slight poison damage briefly. Your issues with Thorn can also most likely just be issues with the weapon ache-type itself. 3) Thorn inherently will never be 'balanced' so long as Crucible remains a dominant factor in weapon tuning. It's the design of the weapon that prohibits it from being anything other than terrible or extremely powerful, and exotic weapons should never hold the spot of being extremely powerful.

3 RepliesHonestly, I'd simply like to see the range perks on Thorn and Hawkmoon swapped for rifled barrel, to allow them to reliably used in crucible again. It trades a bit of reload for the range, so it's not a totally free increase, and it makes them usable without making them OP.

2 RepliesHahaha. "Buff thorn" ha ha NO! That was the most despised gun of the crucible in year one. The only exotic that was more talked about was ghorn. Trials, iron banner. If you used it and your opponent didn't, you were guaranteed to receive hate mail. Of all the nerfs Bungie ever made, thorn was argued against the least. Just search "destiny thorn memes" and see what comes up.

2 RepliesThe year 2 "half assed" quest fits perfectly with the half-assed thorn. Y1 > Y2 Come back after you solo the original bounty start to finish, because the Thorn was so hated, people wouldn't even help you complete it. Only after that kind of "Hard Work", do you deserve a powerful weapon!

If the quest was the same as the y1 quest you'd have a solid argument there. Unfortunately, year 3's quest was child's play. It's not like you went out if your way to do the things it requires. It's all things you were going to do anyway. You simply obtained it.

1 ReplyIt's a pretty terrible gun now. You can stand behind a guardian and unload into him, and he can just jump away or turn around and gun you down. The ttk is just awful. It's worse than a bad auto rifle. It would be cool to be able to 'charge' it, instead of rapid firing it. Hold the trigger down for an empowered, fusion-esque shot. Something worthwhile to not scrap it on contact.

I think thorn is fine. The whole low impact archetype needs a range boost that it would get too.

Lol sorry you had to "work your butt off" for it. Pretty easy for a lot of us to get and it 100% was too OP back in its hay day.

They wont since some dbag will say it is completely balanced other than dealing 3 damage on crit we should nerf it even more
