To be bad with money management you have to actually have money that can be managed. Poor people don't have that. You have enough to pay bills and then you're broke. The biggest cause of poverty is lack of opportunity.

That was a lie told by public school indoctrinators. Also location is a big factor too. Just because you want to live somewhere doesn't mean that's the best place for you especially if you can get a job somewhere else easier. Everyone just wants to live with their friends and family and do no work whatsoever. Plenty of opportunities. Just have to research, go out there and sometimes maybe settle for less than ideal in a temporary situation. But with hard work and effort, you can and will always find something better.

I'll make sure to pay for movers to move my shit, and the first + last month rent on a new place, start-up costs for utilities... OH WAIT NO I'M -blam!-ING POOR You literally don't know how being poor works, do you?

  • Yeah but see there's these things called friends and family. Usually more often than not, people have at least one and people who don't are usually really good at fending for themselves in the first place. But programs already exist without the need for extra taxpayer money. You act as if only the government can help poor people. If taxes weren't so damn high, you'd probably see more generous people. Not everyone is a greedy piece of shit. But the government is. We know that much.

  •

If taxes weren't so damn high
Taxes are historically -blam!-ing low.
You mean Federal taxes by themselves are. Coupled with state, property, some people have buisness tax which again if it weren't so damn high, they could probably afford to pay their employees a decent wage, but no apparently you think every business owner is -blam!-ing Reaver from the Fable series. And then there's a death tax. I don't even know how the left justifies that.

Less than ideal temporary situation is called being poor. Your post isn't based in reality. Just a lot of "work harder." Well I have bad news. There's only so many hours in a day. But at the end, you confirm what I'm saying, and that's because of a lack of opportunity, people are forced to accept less than ideal situations, and are as a result, poor.

There's only so many hours in a day.
And there are job shifts that cover every hour. This is the weakest rebuttal ever. Instead of scheming to figure out how to work as little as possible while earning tons of money, maybe work on something you actually enjoy doing so you don't hate your life but unless you're a trust fund kid, you had better work. And so what if trust fund kids exist? They're far and few between and their parents most likely worked very hard to be able to provide that luxury for their kids. Sorry your parents didn't think to do that but it's nobody's fault but theirs. I and the rest of the world shouldn't have to provide for you just because you exist.

Way to completely miss the point. Trust fund kids or providing for others isn't even remotely what's being discussed.

  • You're right, the system needs to change, but I guess how it needs to change is the point of contention.

  • I wouldn't say the premise that we need to be constantly trying to create better opportunity in this country is a point of contention, but exactly how that is done, is.
