It's the only melee that can miss. Perhaps you could put a 5 second cool down on the melee for a miss and allow us to use it again without having to recharge?
The penalty for a miss is so extreme, it makes you not want to bother with the STRENGTH stat on Gunslinger at all.
And I understand the range... but I mean look at Thunderstrike. It has a range of 26 miles and can't miss.
-
....and the reward for a hit can be just as extreme. Last night, playing as a Gunslinger, I took out a guy who was running around beneath me on Rusted Lands. While I was jumping around up in the air near the top of the Watertower. Single shot to the head with a Throwing Knife from straight above him. Dead...and he never saw it coming. Probably never even realized he was even in danger. I could practicaly hear the "WTF?!?!?!" coming out of my TV. Don't play a high risk/high rewards weapon if you aren't willing to accept the good with the bad.
-
That's the cost of playing a a Subclass revolving around pinpoint damage.
-
.....the warlock melee can't get a crit damage.....the warlock melee can't actually across map....the warlock melee can't cause burn damage...
-
same with the stormcaller super. you don't have to aim, you can rush at people and electricity chains between the whole team and you can blink as well. There is a reason all the sweats use stormcaller.
-
i like the idea, but i'd prefer amplitude be replaced with something else or nerfed. I'd also like to see base warlock melee's range be reduced by a small amount (about 5%), oh and remove all ghost melees from all 3 characters ( Yes, all 3 characters can ghost melee. I've accomplished this on all 3 of them frustratingly successfully)

There is a secret to using throwing knife.
Don't miss.
-
Don't start a post with an outright lie. Makes me not wanna agree with you. Smoke can miss, and it's possible to have the melee connect with nothing (and still make the hit noise and animation as if you hit something.)
-
You still have a basic melee when you miss.
-
Only melee that can miss... what? All melees can, all others just have less range...
-
I would like to add that a head shit should be a 1-shot kill as it takes skill to do that. On top of that, it is a knife to the face which would be lethal.
-
That's why we have scavenger. But circle of life should be changed to reset the cool down if a knife is missed. Who uses circle of life any.
-
"The only melee that can miss" Tell that to my Titan's ghostly knuckles. My fists go through everything with little to no harm to the opponent. Flub. Flub. Flub. Flub. Lol I agree with your point, but I don't think giving it basically unlimited access is the answer. Buff its damage a bit so it's better at cleaning up kills.
-
It used to be one hit with incendiary blade. Too bad their only solution is to Nerf.
-
Just give back it's damage
-
If you can't aim either git gud or use Monte Carlo
-

-
You can miss every melee. Thunderstrike has a cool down.
-
Edited by THUNDERCHILD: 1/15/2017 11:37:08 PMI'd settle for a buff to it's pre nerf damage. The loss of a charge when you miss is an acceptable balance for the extended range of the attack.
-
No, the throwing knife being able to miss is fine. What does't make sense is how weak it is, as the only melee that can miss, that trade off should be that it does more damage. Instead it feels like you'd might as well be tossing a toothpick at them.
-
Don't miss boi. Love me some throwing knives. Why should you get it back cause you missed lol
